However, I pointed out that the text only suggests the defendant was sitting in the backseat, but nowhere does it say that the defendant was placed in the backseat
The defense would've usually expected me to concede that "yes, the defendant was sitting in the backseat", but I countered their argument with a solid and unexpected response
Well, the defendant was offered a ride to the station, so it was clear that the defendant was in the car voluntarily. The defense argued that the defendant sitting in the backseat was a sign of the fact that the officer was exerting more power, and thereby coercive pressure on the defendant
> Blancmange is a sweet dessert commonly made with milk or cream and sugar thickened with rice flour, gelatin, corn starch or Irish moss, and often flavoured with almonds. It is usually set in a mould and served cold. Although traditionally white, blancmanges are frequently given alternative colours.
i have never heard of this, but i'm guessing it's kinda like flan?
a friend of mine used to take me out to a mexican tapas resturant and they had peanut butter flan as a dessert there, it was really good... i kinda wanna try making this sometime but with a flavor
"satay" is pushing it... but certainly has enough chili ginger, garlic and peanut butter... and then it will depend on what I can find in the pantry ;p
my all-time favorite meme is still the one where it shows a language picker, and it shows "English" and "English (Simplified)." the "English" option has a British flag. the "English (Simplified)" option has an American flag.
I would have arrived in full "grizzled loose cannon detective" costume and roleplayed it straightfaced and banged my fists on the table when I was making a point
There are actually two separate objections to that
The first is "badgering", which is when you're aggressively attacking the witness, and the second is "argumentative", which is where you as the attorney literally are "arguing" with the witness
Also, you need to remember that in a real trial
You're trying to convince the jury
The jury will not like you if you yell at any witness
They kind of have to do that in the TV shows and movies though, because real cases are SUPER boring
