Can you edit it to be more than asking for someone to read up and regurgitate Wikipedia?

It seems that they claim to have done that ("we did google search and got a tail to look at Ad-Hoc") and now want some info about using it in an "inter-vehicle communication system". Other than Olin's answer and Majenko's wikipedia link to en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intelligent_vehicular_ad_hoc_network, I don't have a clue about this topic.

If you think they're asking for someone to regurgitate Wikipedia, I'll close it with great pleasure - I don't know enough about the topic to determine whether that Wikipedia page is useful.

Reads like more electronics than computer hardware

@random Electronics? Buying antennas and plugging them into laptops is most certainly not electronics. It's impossible to tell whether they want an embedded solution or not. I think I've spent enough effort on this question, probably more than the OP.
