Reconstructified the Best CHM viewer → Highlighting in CHM viewer Better version without the whole product recommendation stink, that should be far more in line with question quality now @ivoflipse

@random great
Also: somebody slap the guy here

Q: Not a necessarily a duplicate of Super User

MaxMackieProposal: Internet Relay Chat (IRC) I think there is enough content to warrant an IRC SE site. Saying that a certain proposal is a duplicate of Super User is simply saying it is related to computers. There are several SE sites which were once (and still are) on-topic for SU (ask different, unix&...

The CHM thing is essentially the same question, but with a direct focus on getting the most out of the default one. Does have a crazy amount of views on it

I happened to need one to read some ebook, I dread the default CHM reader
though the solutions are pretty crappy too

@tjm I deleted the MSO question for you, no worries about hurting anyone's feeling, but it was just a really really bad idea

@IvoFlipse There's always that calibre reader if you wanted to try it. Not sure if it had highlighting though

@random Oh I didn't need highlighting, just a chm reader
Let me see if Calibre does what I want
because I use it to manage my kindle

Forgot you needed that CHM reading part

Actually it has a built in ebook viewer, that's mobi based. Looks pretty decent really
endless scrolling, that's a nice feature too
well you solved my problem :D

@IvoFlipse. Thanks for deleting the question. What I can't understand though is, if people weren't offended, then why it was such a bad idea. Are we not permitted a laugh and a joke every now and then? If people just didn't get it or didn't find it funny then I can handle the downvotes, but it seemed like joviality is not allowed. I understand why it is not permitted on the main site. But it seems a shame if there's nowhere for it (except on April 1st!). What's a community without laughter?

@tjm Well because beneath all the fun and jokes, you're suggestion has serious implications for the question quality
The team has gone through great lengths to try and prevent SO from getting swamped by crappy questions, but its an uphill battle (that's what we get for outsourcing everything to India)
Stack Overflow get's 4100 questions a day of which a large portion is pretty low quality. Reducing the boundary of effort for those kind of questions is a bad idea
I'd rather see something put in place that made it even harder to ask a question instead, but obviously that would hinder users who mean well but simply don't know any better (yet)

I see your point, but my question would only affect the question quality if it were implemented. In my mind that was never a thought. What maybe threw me off were the fun and joke tags on meta, (I should have tagged it joke - I didn't, but I did tag it fun) what's their purpose if not to indicate that this question is a bit of fun? (I mean that question sincerely)
Actually, sorry, I really shouldn't have started this now. I need to leave. My main purpose was to say thankyou for deleting my question. So, thankyou! I really had started to worry about it and I'm glad it's gone. The last thing I wanted was to cause offence.

@tjm Those tags should not exist at all, but we're stuck with people who think its funny when its friday in iceland
@tjm Well you should remember that on Meta, downvotes mean they disagree with you, not that think you're a bad person

So, I've recently been using the comment flags on comments that I added as supplemental to a post, or comments that are irrelevant. Since I don't get any feedback for comment flags, is that okay for me to do or should I rather not do it? Do you guys think this is … too much? Or does it help clean up the clutter?
