my gas bill is lower in the winter, than my electric bill is in the summer. And I try to limit how much I run the central A\C, whereas I run the heat all the time in the winter.
Whenever I turn on the A\C, I watch the meter spin and I start sweating more.
@Aaron Insulation slows the transfer of heat. If the temperature is the same on both sides, there's little to slow, but the larger the difference in temperature, the faster the transfer through the insulation
You blow it out one side, creating negative pressure in the attic. the cooler outside air is pulled (or pushed depending on who you talk to) into the attic.
