@RebeccaChernoff: thanks for watching the paint dry for us. Maybe we should schedule these chats for only 2-3 hours. They seem to die after a couple hours.
The laser part is useful (I have a real hard time with straight lines - tragic since my whole family is artsy except me), but the stud finding is about the same as every other one I've used. And that "Caution! Electricty" LED stays lit most of the time.
I can't set it to go on forever, so I've set it until December. We can always cancel it later. I've also set it for 120 minutes - I don't think I can set it for any longer
@AarthiDevanathanΨ Registered and will try to attend. I also have to complete at least one minor project this weekend so I'm hoping to remember to take pictures to share with the class.
I shared some of my shower pictures in an answer on wet rooms the other night. If When we get the blog up and running I will contribute a post about the project.
Blog discussion time! In discussions on the Meta we've established that we probably do want a blog to tell stories and share pictures and media that don't fit into the format of questions-and-answers. The next step that we have to decide on is who is willing to contribute to the blog, and who wil...
@JayBazuzi I get that. The blog is a little different than the QA though, we want to explore getting interesting information out there along with having a repository of answers. Sure there's lots of "What is a yurt" - but I wouldn't know to google it in the first place if I didn't see it on a site I visited. Like diy.se.
@JayBazuzi My first thought is cheap cork. Do you want/care if it looks cheap?
@Jay I'd feel better if it was sealed (especially the ends) - but I've seen unfinished fir decks that have lasted decades. I'm wondering if a washroom gets more foot traffic than a deck and how that might speed things up. I'd actually worry a bit about rot from underneath and how that might affect board curing. What's the plan for the subfloor?
