Ground Fault. An unintentional, electrically conducting connection between an ungrounded conductor of an electrical circuit and the normally non–current-carrying conductors, metallic enclosures, metallic raceways, metallic equipment, or earth.
So if you intentionally connect the ungrounded conductor to the normally non-current-carrying conductors, it's not a ground fault.
@Tester101 Of course it's not a ground's fault, it's the device's fault, the device shouldn't be doing that and should be corrected with a persuasive hammer tap.
For those that don't know, Vebjorn Ljosa is stepping down. He hasn't been active in a while and felt that it would be better for someone else to take his place.
@ChrisCudmore the main wall of the staircase is by far the coldest wall in the house - thinking about drilling a hole in each cavity and blowing insulation in
but knowing this house, i'm either gonna end up wasting the loose fill or end up gutting the wall; neither outcome is desirable
@ChrisCudmore My family did that in an older home, plaster walls and wallpaper. They just cut small patches of the wall paper, drilled a 1-2" hole, and blew it in. You need to check for fire blocking, and realize that it will settle over time, so it's imperfect, but better than nothing.
@ChrisCudmore it's not so much that there's a cavity that you can blow out, it just compacts over time. In the attic, you go from 12" to 8" over the years, thinner, but still evenly distributed. In a vertical wall, as it compresses, you end up with an uninsulated portion at the top of the wall.
with blowing it in - i'm kinda thinking the blown in will cling to the lath and keep itself up on its own. also all the nails coming into the cavity from the outside from the shingles will grip it as well
so if my kitchen sink is draining slowly, and I've augered and haven't found anything, what do you think are the odds of leaves falling on the vent in the roof and clogging the vent?

some comments just strike me as "selling a product" comments.
@Aaron Pull the P-trap, put a bucket under the disposal (maybe some plastic or a tube into the bucket to avoid any mess) and run water down the sink drain, see if it goes any faster.
If you don't hear a bunch of gurgling in the drain after the water flows out, chance are it's a partial blockage and not a stopped vent.
I would like to make some bookshelves similar to what is seen here:
My question is how to nicely mount these to the wall. Obviously I could simply angle some screws into the wall studs, however I think that'd look a bit messy and would like to hide the mounting method.
So glad to see a bunch of people putting their names in the hat. When these elections first start, I always worry that no one will run. Then again, I took a few days to put my own name in the hat.
sooooo..... when amazon says 2 day shipping; and the product was ordered on sunday, and shipped on monday, that doesn't mean it'll be delivered on tuesday? wednesday makes it 3 days, no ?
sounds like false advertising - should then say, x days after the day of purchase
no bid deal - only a bluetooth headset cause i got pulled over on my way home for talking on the phone from the wedding sunday, but i hate waiting... amazon.com/gp/product/B009L7G8GI/ref=shptrk_scth
and no; i didn't get a ticket. the cop thought he was gonna catch me with an expired inspection, saying "you know your inspection expired in september, 2 months ago, right?" um... no? look at it again, officer (moron) - it doesn't expire until november!
he mis-read the sticker (in NY, its on the windshield) - he was even pointing to it reading it outloud - Dude - its november, not september punched out
unless it was on purpose; some legal crap, knowing the event was live streamed and them not being able to use a copywritten name without their permission - BUT - i'd assume they could use it cause the dark knight is available in iTunes and most things in iTunes can be used by Apple for marketing reasons
Extreme Ironing (also called EI) is an extreme sport and a performance art in which people take ironing boards to remote locations and iron items of clothing. According to the Extreme Ironing Bureau, extreme ironing is "the latest danger sport that combines the thrills of an extreme outdoor activity with the satisfaction of a well-pressed shirt."
Part of the attraction and interest the media has shown towards extreme ironing seems to centre on the issue of whether it is really a sport or not. It is widely considered to be tongue-in-cheek.
Some locations where such performances have take...
