I ran two games with two people each at the con, and it was good! Had a lot of conversations too.
Script Change was accepted as "oh, nice" and nobody squawked. The metaphor and the cards on the table made it super easy to just roll it into the "this is how we play the game" introduction.
It's so awesome to see people surprise themselves with their creative storytelling.
My friend is going to GM Tales of the Yawning Portal hardcover and I am thinking about making a Drow character. However, I am worried about their Sunlight Sensitivity feature and how it'll affect my build that is dependent on getting Advantage a lot.

@Shalvenay Seeing the opposition crashed feels bad. Seeing the NPC allies suffer all the damage in the fight feels even worse, but that's what a DM does, right? :P
@Shalvenay still, what are the PCs doing wrong? Just having high AC and Dex builds on the frontliners and hitting with touch attacks (bombs and guns mainly) or spell-like (not Spell-like) maneuvers.
Maybe I should have had the NPCs fly too but it looked like a waste of resources in this situation
