7:28 PM
@NautArch No cleric in the party. 2 wizards, a monk, and a sorc

@V2Blast ooof. Aid might not be awful...but i'd heavily consider taking Inspiring Leader.

TBH I've used Aid a bunch of times. Even as a third level spell, ten extra hit points on our very squishy Rogue + Druid has added up a lot.

@Xirema It's a great spell, it's just not delivering 3d8 or more radiant damage :)
But i'd definitely make sure ot keep lesser restoration active
between that, dispel magic, and cleansing touch (if you get that high), you can undo a lot of effects.

@Xirema I agree; especially if you have one of the many ridiculous out of combat healing options to where that 10 hp is effectively always fully restored up

@V2Blast You may also want to consider cure wounds.
But that one never seems like a great option. If you're close enough for CW, using Lay On Hands is better.

7:40 PM
@NautArch Unless you have find familiar (although that is definitely an edge-case)

@DavidCoffron Then you're not a full paladin, either. :P

@NautArch Magic Initiate?

yeah, was thinking that or ring of spell storing.
but then that familiar is significantly more squishy. Ritual caster would be the best option for it.

@NautArch Getting some cantrips on a paladin for a ranged option can never hurt either

@DavidCoffron yeah, i'm debating about responding to that Golden Knight homebrew. It's way OP in my opinion.

7:41 PM
Ritual caster seems a little redundant with two wizards in the party

mostly because of the ranged options it ets.
@DavidCoffron Easier way to recast your familiar after it gets killed, tho. Those limited pally spell slots are real.

@NautArch True. You aren't limited to once-per-day like with Magic Initiate

7:57 PM
@V2Blast What happened to that bounty on the Wayfinder's guide question?

8:13 PM
@NautArch It expired
@NautArch yeah, exactly

@V2Blast But i'd definitely make sure LR is prepped. (probably swap out wraithful smite.)
Wraithful can be situationally good, but you're more likely to drop that 2nd level slot to fix an ally.

8:31 PM
Although with only 2 2nd level slots, and with one gone potentially from aid, using those slots on non-smites is generally going to be suboptimal.

8:57 PM
@NautArch Yeah, I was thinking of leaving it as-is now and prepping Lesser Restoration with the additional prepared spell next level

What is the state/value/acceptance of retagging closed questions? (asking as there are a lot of closed questions that should be [homebrew-review])

Bumping closed questions to the front page with edits that won't help them get re-opened is considered a waste of the site's time and energy.

I think there's a way to change the tags without bumping them, but I think that requires a Mod to do it?

It's not wrong but there's usually more constructive things for us to be doing, and if it's done to many questions in a row then there will be Frowny Faces.

Does editing tags via the below button bump it in "Active"

9:13 PM
@DavidCoffron Yup

user15026
I believe so.

9:32 PM
I think there are a couple in there that shouldn't/have no reason to be closed, so I'll slowly bump those to update and improve the rest of our homebrew review backlog

1 hour later…
10:51 PM
@DavidCoffron yep
@Xirema Only possible with renaming/merging tags, I believe, not simply editing tags on some questions

@V2Blast Hmm, gotcha.

11:39 PM
@V2Blast not a bad decision

Q: Are there fundamental problems with this guideline for estimating the rarity of home-brewed Magic Items?

Mars PlasticThere are a lot of questions about estimating the appropriate rarity level of a homebrewed Magic Item. In one of those, I came across this answer by Lino Frank Ciaralli suggesting a fairly general method: When comparing rare and very rare items, I usually just start with the base weapons/armo...

Q: Am I overreacting or seeing things where they don't exist?

DorumI am a new D&D player and was having a blast playing with my friends. We are all new to this, including our GM, and it's been so much fun. When we do critical hits, he plays a Power Ranger-like song and we all celebrate with this silly dance. Anyway, I liked it so much that I reached out for ...

Q: What is the difference between Shadowrun 3e and 6e?

VylixMy group have played Shadowrun 3e once, and we all agreed that this system is very realistic, but very complex. Too many options for our liking. We are considering options to switch edition, and as usually newer edition reduce complexity for newer player, we are currently looking at 6e. What ar...

Q: Can two Cloud of Daggers be cast in the same area by different spell casters?

Samara MarkcosianQuick overview of the situation, the party is 3rd level and the warlock and the bard can now both cast cloud of daggers. We were in a lizardfolk den and they saw us and came running down a 5-foot corridor. The bard was first in initiative and threw out the cloud of daggers right on them. The warl...

@HotRPGQuestions Woah, slow down there
