@waxeagle I sincerely do not want to. I do not think that this conversation should be ghettoized because heated and passionate opinion makes some people uncomfortable
This room was placed in timeout for 2 minutes; the topic of this room is "Main chat room for Tabletop Role-Playing Games" - conversation should be limited to that topic.
2 minute time out. y'all take it elsewhere. and I'll refrain from handing out suspensions for spamming the room with an argument no one wants here.
@KRyan we exhausted that topic over an hour ago in here, and I told you to take it to meta or talk to SE. This room does not need to host that argument. I'm sorry if you feel that way.
you can get access to the /me syntax (it really just italicizes so it use *x* syntax) via the SE chat modifications script (no longer compatible with chrome :()
15 years on (RPG related) IRC has taught me quite a few things, but the most important is this: once someone, and it does not matter what party does this, once someone accuses another of insulting themselves or some group based on an argument, no matter how dispassionate and logical the argument is, its time for that conversation to just end
Anyway. I am thinking of picking up another system because I have become quite good with Pathfinder. Any recommendations? Preferably something that I don't have to sink a lot of money into.
@Aaron Are there particular parts of Pathfinder that you liked or didn't like? Could help with recommendations. For instance, I love me some Fate (however it's capitalized), but it's very different from D&D, and probably not for everyone.
Eh. At this point I don't care about similarities. I will probably make a list of all recommendations and look at each one before choosing which to dive into.
@Grubermensch Exalted has some really cool stuff in it, but the mechanics are fairly poor, and more than a few aspects of the fluff is very ... disturbing?
=Legend =Fate =DeadEarth =White wolf's World of Darkness =Games by White wolf in general =Mythical Beast: The Thinging =Traveler =FASA Star Trek =Storium =Microscope =Exalted =Vampire the masquerade
@Aaron If you can access SE chat, you can get on irc. Mibbit is a service that lets you connect to arbitrary irc servers. many have their own web clients
@Aaron That can be fun if you have a good cleric, or at low enough levels, a bard in the party... but I just like the Barbarian/Heavy with an interesting personality. Example: in sr4 I played an aging jewish ork.
@Metool There was a snippet of the legendary thing at the end of the sample pages. It seems similar to the mythic system in pathfinder? Only less... broken
Recently I've noticed that at the bottom of questions, there is a rather odd message:
I imagine it's supposed to say something like "...via email, Twitter, Reddit, or Facebook", but it seems like those other options are missing. I think that either other options should be added or it should be...
@Metool Oh. If it was this Archer, I'd guess "because he's drunk."
@Tritium21 ...okay, I think I caught up with the backlog. Not sure I've seen you in chat before, I'm sorry you came in during one of our (thankfully increasingly rare) Dramasplosions.
I was casually getting ready for my day, thinking about what I was going to be doing and suddenly I realised I have people coming here for a Ruhí meeting in fifteen minutes. [augh!]
