@Zachiel In answer to your question - if there is a significant rift between players, the characters either find a way around talking to each other or go via a GM and get it over with as fast as possible.

in my experience, either the player in question is able to separate character attitude and personal attitude, in which case the issue is nonexistent, or not, in which case real-life techniques apply.

I think she's able to do that but I don't want her to have any reason to suspect I could try to get in touch via her PG by metagaming just to play with her (this is not true but I fear she could suspect it)

The land is about to enter dark and terrible times - and there are very few people who can stop it.

Legends are spreading about a small old man, travelling the lands teaching the ways of enlightment. Of mastery of the rings. It is a lesson sorely needed when the emperors men have become callous and grasping.

old plot:
all the families provide a child to protect the hantei (but they don't know this). the finalists go to a "new school" and that's where they meet eachother and a few npc's (guess who one is) to become his personal guard, after forging a solid friendship the group gets sent to study at the wall

after spending time at the wall (time in which the hantei marries his scorpion bride) they get sent back to court

i have them do some politicking

anyway, the lion and the crane of course don't believe the crab and the pheonix who are saying wierd things are going on, much less in the north

yeah but forging a sort of alliance with the ratlings i think would be harder on the character's side than convincing the naga to fight with them because the shadow is coming

@CarolinaLoza The Naga are more worried about the Lying Darkness than the Shadowlands. (Which can be a bit confusing).

@CarolinaLoza Yogo was cursed at the beginning of the Empire to betray the one he loved. The curse has followed to every one of his descendants.

I met one of the heads of Obsidian Portal at Gencon '09, Obsidian Portal is sort of a player/DM collaboration site for campaign materials.

It was pretty barebones and I haven't looked at it since then.

We've got one guy who missed my "it's justified in-game to attack a downed PC if the NPC really hates him," and another who missed both my edit and the comment I based my edit on re: PCs being the only creatures in 4e with massive combat-healing resources.

It's minor, but this is the first post where I've tried to be really conscientious about editing comments into my answer and flagging as obsolete for eventual consolidation, and it's just accumulating more and more comments I have no response to except "please read again?"
