I was about to leave LPH a comment that their comment was entirely out of place because they couldn't know I had not downvoted, so the downvote could have been mine. I'd have told them FSE has SO's general policy and not its own and why people, although encouraged to do so, do not always leave comments, has been discussed many times on Meta.

@Laure My comment is not out of place; I do not know why someone had a negative vote and apparently you don't either ; who can read anything else in that comment except that if someone was required to leave their nickname and a reason for the vote this wouldn't happen (the courage of one's conviction)?
