Q: language translation commonality

MicangelloA word in one language can be translated to multiple words in another language but with different popularity for each translation. Is the "popularity" or "commonality" symmetric? For example: Translating "Hello" to French can give you: "Hello" -> "Bonjour" (Most popular) "Hello" -> "Salut" ...

Right, it's slightly different in this case. Anyway it's very slang-ish.
In this case the “mighty stuff” is the distance between him and the policemen.
(that the policemen can now “see”)
“la vue” is the sight (range of vision) of the policemen.
