As a moderator, you deal with flags not close votes. Because a moderator's votes are binding (a single vote on anything will perform the action) often we try not to force our opinion on the community. The community should be reviewing the close vote queue and voting themselves because it only takes 5 people to close a question.
I will often close vote if I see them but I don't actively search them out at the detriment of flags :)
Ah, right, that's probably also a topic for meta. If we want to rally the community to make sure they're looking for dupes, meta is the ideal place for it. People may not even know they are supposed to do that.
I'll keep an eye on the close queue the next couple of days. I think it would be helpful to make a meta post encouraging people to review and flag duplicates etc.

@Sonevol Make sure they're not trivial or superfluous. You don't need your edits approved so you can do more trivial edits without people moaning about them. However, the thing to remember is, everytime you edit a post it bumps it to the home page again and pushes new questions down the order. Ideally, we want an edit that bumps a new question down the front page to be worth it. If it's a capitalisation from like 'i' to 'I' and that's it, I might avoid doing lots of those all in one go.
Personally, I try and trickle them through if they are a bit picky and aren't that detrimental to the question.

@Sonevol flag any duplicates and I will check them, if they're dupes I'll mark them as dupes. I check in and out throughout the day, so your flag should be handled quickly
