@lyxal in case you didn't see, we finally merged Crosshatch
I did see
Thank you for making it - you've probably not seen the many times I ramble on at length about how much each contribution means to me, but little things like that are things I really truly appreciate
That's not to say that the repl is a little thing
That's to say I'm grateful for you going ahead and taking charge
So unironically and /srs, thank you
pipi pkg when
i think i might learn vyxal now solely because it has a a shiny repl now
00:59
@user pipi in your pampers
Are you kidding ??? What the **** are you talking about man ? You are a biggest looser i ever seen in my life ! You was doing PIPI in your pampers when i was beating players much more stronger then you! You are not proffesional, because proffesionals knew how to lose and congratulate opponents, you are like a girl crying after i beat you! Be brave, be honest to yourself and stop this trush talkings!!! Everybody know that i am very good blitz player, i can win anyone in the world in single game! And "w"esley "s"o is nobody for me, just a player who are crying every single time when loosing,
@hyper-neutrino I had a dream where you said here that you'd been sharing vyxal with your real life friends and they'd said "when the vomit repo is activated"
because they were riffing on the code quality for some reason
Even after the Great Rewrite?
Apparently
How mean of hyper's dream friends
01:20
lmao wtf
Hey don't blame me for you pinging me in my sleep :p
01:36
@lyxal Thank you! It means a lot to me to have my contributions appreciated.
@user soonish, probably tomorrow
@Ginger just as it means a lot to me that people are even willing to contribute to this goofy little project of mine
@lyxal tell me, when you created Vyxal did you think it would turn out like it has?
Well actually yes
Because I was always going to grind until it got here
I'm more surprised at how quickly it happened
I was thinking it'd take a lot longer
lol
@lyxal ya mean like here? :p
Maybe... :p
02:07
> like it has
Do you mean in a good way or bad?
@Ginger lyxal gets very emotional over vyxal :P
Ah, now I understand the dad jokes
They started around the time he made Vyxal, right?
Vyxal is his child
That's why he's compelled to say "You're not joking, you're <username>"
Mmm I wanna use Scala Native so we can maybe get somewhat close to the blazing speed of Jyxal and Myxal
02:32
@user we can't?
We totally can, there are just some libraries made for the JVM that we may not be able to use with Scala Native
I think you can get JVM stuff to compile to native code but don't quote me on that
02:50
graalvm
@user you will never beat myxal mwahahahaha

1 hour later…
04:14
@user @Steffan I've noticed y'all've been working on the more tests branch. What's changed since I last looked at it? Asking about infrastructure changes that have been made so I don't go mucking things up.
04:35
Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you I started trying to port InterpreterTests to use AnyFunSpec and then stopped when I was like 75% done to go to sleep last night
I also made some helpers but we'll probably end up getting rid of/modifying them
@user so all files will use AnyFunSpec then?
Yeah
cool
That's the one you liked, right?
it is

4 hours later…
08:35
@user workflow time!

4 hours later…
12:09
@mathcat no that's my job
@user good lol
12:57
@Ginger review on this?
13:29
in The Nineteenth Byte, 23 secs ago, by lyxal
@mathcat Vyxal, 9 bytes: į¹„'Lā°=nÞuāˆ§
man it feels good to use a stack language again after adventuring into APL
don't get me wrong, APL is cool and all, but at the end of the day, I still prefer stack mechanics and having strings as actual objects and not having to worry about the shape of lists
GingerIndustries commented on PR #20 (Vyxal/Crosshatch): "This is an ok idea, but I'm going to hold off on merging it until I fix (or nuke, probably) the error system."

4 hours later…
18:04
GingerIndustries closed issue #1445 (Make the REPL a bit nicer to use, Vyxal/Vyxal)
18:38
@VyxalBot We still need to make the default REPL able to go up and down, right?
tbh I think that the default REPL should go bye-bye
why would we keep it?
In case someone wants to quickly try out some Vyxal code
It certainly doesn't hurt to keep it
blugh fine
(tbh I don't think rich is fat enough that Vyxal shouldn't include Crosshatch by default)
^ which reminds me: I need to put this sucker on PyPI

2 hours later…
20:38
@Ginger I think you missed the "don't" there :P
> ^
ohhhh
I said in my message that Vyxal should include Crosshatch instead of having no repl by default and having to install separately
I thought you meant "include in the dependencies"
20:40
Oh
which is what I was going to do
I am straying to the Lisp side
I see no issues here :p
It's a dirty macro
For convenience
@user ...would be a good name for a song
20:43
But it doesn't even reduce the line count
lol
(just to be clear, by dirty, I meant it looked ugly, not that it's not hygienic, which is apparently a real term)

3 hours later…
23:24
@lyxal @Steffan I made a VyxalTests class with some helpers and made InterpreterTests and LexerTests use AnyFunSpec. However, I'm afraid I might have made too many unnecessary helpers, or the helpers might not be doing the right things. Could y'all just review that and change anything if necessary?
what does the groupImpl look like in practice?
23:48
@user come to the Lisp side, we have cookies
