Q: Poem 'A Photograph' by Shirley Toulson

Baskaran SoundararajanIn this poem, a phrase appears in the last line of the first stanza. It is 'transient feet'. What is the figure of speech in it? On the net, I find various answers like metaphor, allusion, transferred epithet & synecdoche and so on. I am rather unclear about it. Kindly clarify. Thanks!

Q: Term for impressing different meanings on different audiences?

stevecIs there a term for when an author intentionally generates two completely different responses from two distinct parts of their audience/readership? An example I found could be in The Picture of Dorian Gray, where Oscar Wilde says: Yes, there is a ... moral in Dorian Gray - a moral which the prur...

Q: Where does the quote “If you live each day as if it was your last, someday you'll most certainly be right” come from?

Andrey BienkowskiThe quote "If you live each day as if it was your last, someday you'll most certainly be right" is often attributed to Steve Jobs, but a quote posted on this website: https://libquotes.com/steve-jobs/quote/lbo5d1e suggests that Steve Jobs was himself quoting someone else: When I was 17, I read a...

Q: Why is Amy Chua's book called "Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother" instead of "Battle Hymn of the Mother-Tigress"?

AliceIn my language, the title of Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother has been translated as Боевой гимн матери-тигрицы, which translates to "Battle hymn of the mother-tigress". I think Ms Chua meant the word "tiger" as a noun, not as an adjective. So, in this case "mother-tigress" would be right. Is this...

@Mithical FWIW, I understood what you were asking four years ago in: literature.stackexchange.com/questions/2773/…
@bobble I thought I had your ALT img project bookmarked. what did I do wrong?

I'm... uh, I only remember rejecting one edit of yours, and it wasn't that one...
did you happen to edit your edit within the grace period or something?
The edit I rejected had an edit reason something like "photoshopped image", and the only change I could see was changing out one image for another, which I thought on balance did nothing to improve
I carefully checked the diff; there was no adding of image descriptions
I distinctly remember looking at the markdown-diff and seeing that you have left in the first two links (0s & 0f) and added your new photoshopped image link below the current block-o-links, with a newline in-between
aggh
grace periods do not play well with suggested edits
ya, I got no idea what happened here, but rest assured I would have approved the edit I now see, and that the edit I rejected was a true no-improvement edit

my multiple edits were because i decided to go back and change poorer quality images with cleaner ones. As the OP admitted off handedly that someone could do better. whatever the state of the post i dont know. multiple edit reviews for same post likely gives the caching fits

Please, whenever possible make only one single edit instead of many

Yea i learned that. it shows it still needs to be reviewed. (shrug)
well my edit waiting for review seems to have everything. but i know i would have missed a grace period if i had edit window open while i was researching and edititing pixctures.
