@DavidRoberts Just a reminder that a month has passed since the previous discussion concerning, , and other related topics. (In case you had some time to look into this, I decided to ask.)
(Maybe Gro-Tsen, who brought this up originally, contacted the mods in some other way in the meantime - but I did not notice anything here in chat.)
Of course, there is no urgency - at the same time, I thought that it might be worth reminding.

Q: Prove that ${\sqrt2}^{\sqrt2}$ is an irrational number without using a theorem

mathloveProve that ${\sqrt2}^{\sqrt2}$ is an irrational number without using the Gelfond–Schneider theorem. We know that ${\sqrt2}^{\sqrt2}$ is a transcendental number by the Gel'fond-Schneider's theorem. I've tried to prove that ${\sqrt2}^{\sqrt2}$ is an irrational number without using the Gel'fond-Schn...

@MartinSleziak Maybe it would be good to uniformly replace Gel'fond-Schneider's with Gelfond–Schneider? Currently, this was only done for the place where the Wikipedia link was added.
It might also be worth linking to the relevant Math SE question within the post itself. Currently, it is only in a comment under the question.
Of course, I only mention all this since the thread was bumped. I hesitate to suggest an edit myself because they are still relatively minor edits.

@TheAmplitwist I did this kind of on purpose. (But I am aware that it does not look nice.)
I did not want to go against the OP's intentions. At the same time I wanted to make sure that the post is found when searching for "Gelfond".
I assume that Gel'fond wouldn't be found. (Of course, I might be wrong.)
Sorry, I'll have to go AFK for a bit. (A student is here to ask about sth.)

No issues, thanks for dropping in to clarify :)

Ok, I'm back.
But mostly I said what I wanted.
As I said, I am not sure whether there is a difference between Gel'fond and Gelfond when searching - but I'd expect to be.

Since it is Ге́льфонд in Russian, I would not consider Gel'fond incorrect.

I should probably get to that post sooner - but still I'll mentioned that I have edited it mainly because it was bumped by a new answer (now deleted): data.stackexchange.com/mathoverflow/query/1479912/…

@MartinSleziak I've always been a bit curious whether that is meant to be an apostrophe in Gel'fond, or whether it is a caron on the letter l. By any chance, would you happen to know about this, Martin?
Oh, there's an entire Wikipedia page on the character "L with a caron": Ľ - Wikipedia

@TheAmplitwist Additionally, there is a difference between "ľ" and "l'".
As you see from the article you linked, some Slavic languages have a letter "ľ". (One example is Slovak language, which is my mother tongue.)
However, this instance seems to be this: Soft sign.
It seems that people use various transcription of Russian alphabet.
For example, one can see Maltsev - Ма́льцев - transcribed as Malcev or as Mal'cev.
Or you can see Arnold - Арно́льд - as Arnold or Arnol'd.
