deprecated-tags A longer term comparison - in August 2014 there were 700 questions tagged geometry, now there is 393 of them. Back then there were 500 questions in this tag with no of the common geometry-related top-level tags, now there is 242 such questions.

@François Dorais: Concerning the tag geometry, there are about 500 questions with that tag which do not also have a geometry-related tag: https://mathoverflow.net/questions/tagged/geometry+-dg.differential-geometry+-mg.metric-geometry+-ag.algebraic-geometry+-gt.geometric-topology

That is still a lot, but significantly less than the total of nearly 700 questions tagged geometry.
I should probably have included also the total numbers of questions where depreacated tags were edited out in the "status update" I have posted here a few days ago. (I'll try not to forget the next time.)
deprecated-tags SEDE returns 149 questions where the tag abstract-algebra was removed, 714 questions for geometry and...
... 70 questions for discrete-mathematics and 20 questions for convexity. (Suggestion to deprecated convexity has been made on meta not too long ago.)

specific-question What would be suitable tags for How to calculate the positions of the vertices of a deformed cube with different local and global symmetry?

Going over degrees of freedom, it appears that the following construction works, but I have no idea how to calculate exact positions of the vertices, or even a practical approach to approximating them well. There's a deformed cube, meaning the vertices are all moved around a bit but the four ver...
I will point out that the tag (geometry) is deprecated on MO, see the tag-info. So choosing some other tag might be suitable. (I am not exactly sure which tag to choose, but perhaps ([mg.metric-geometry]) would be reasonable.) — Martin Sleziak 59 secs ago

@MartinSleziak YCor changed the tag to (discrete-geometry). Still no top-level tag on this question, though.
