@MartinSleziak I waited a bit to see whether I get some response about this in this room. After few days, I went ahead and made suggested edit in order to replace the newly created tag by the existing one.

Q: What is the shortest polynomial divisible by $(x-1)(y-1)(x^2y-1)$

Thomas KahleI am interested in polynomials with few terms ("short polynomials", "fewnomials") in ideals. A simple to state question is Given an ideal $I\subset k[x_1,\dots,x_n]$, what is the shortest polynomial in $I$? There are answers for "Does an ideal contain a monomial/binomial?", but the general que...

Q: Atiyah-Singer style index theorem for elliptic cohomology?

David WhiteIn 1994, Mike Hopkins wrote a paper called Topological Modular Forms, the Witten Genus, and the Theorem of the Cube. As usual, the introduction was fantastic, explaining the power of various cobordism invariants and connections between homotopy theory and other fields. He states "it is believed t...

This question has been bumped today, which is an opportunity to remove one more instance of tag. However, I am not really sure what tag to choose instead.

Q: coloring ${\mathbb Z}^k$

Mark SapirThis question is related to but seems to be simpler than this one, so perhaps somebody can solve it. Question. Is there $k\ge 1$ and a coloring of vertices of the lattice ${\mathbb Z}^k$ in $k$ colors such that there does not exist an arbitrarily long monochromatric simple 2-path? Is there a c...

Q: Can pure mathematics harness citizen science?

Jonny EvansHaving just finished Michael Nielsen's book "Reinventing Discovery", I find myself wondering if there are ways that pure mathematics research can engage the public in the way that GalaxyZoo or Foldit have in astronomy and protein science respectively. In other words, to break up large-scale resea...

Wayback Machine has a snapshot which shows that it used to have tag - which does not seem like a very reasonable tag name, so it is not that surprising that it was removed.
Is there some suitable tag for this question? Would perhaps be a reasonable tag - that is if MO plans to keep this tag? (It was created not too long ago. At the moment, this tag has too questions, one of them will most likely go through roomba.)
Perhaps also fits this question. However, being a meta-tag, it is not too good to have (soft-question) as the only tag.
