@MartinSleziak Here is a comment by JDH related to the new tag :
I created the infinite-games tag and added it to this question and a number of other questions. I plan to gradually add this tag to the many other infinite-game-related MO questions over the coming days and weeks. Anyone who is interested, please help with this! — Joel David Hamkins May 6 at 2:01
Not that relevant for MO, but I'll mention that there is a suggestion to create such tag also on Mathematics: Math Overflow has a new “infinite games” tag. Can we get one over here?

Q: Math Overflow has a new "infinite games" tag. Can we get one over here?

DukeZhouhttps://mathoverflow.net/questions/tagged/infinite-games Dr. Hamkins put out a request to re-tag suitable questions on Math overflow. This is something I'd be happy to undertake on this stack (say 1 question per day so as not to overwhelm) if the community thinks such a tag would be valuable ...

Joel David Hamkins also created tag-excerpt when creating this new tag.
> Infinite games. Combinatorial game theory for infinite two-player games of perfect information. Open games, clopen games. Determinacy. Transfinite game values.
@JoelDavidHamkins Thanks for creating also the tag-excerpt when creating the new tag. I wonder whether the tag is intended also for topological games, such as Banach-Mazur game and Choquet game. If yes, perhaps this information should be added to the tag-info. — Martin Sleziak 42 secs ago
If you prefer not to leave here too many comments related more closely to tag-creation than to this specific question, we can continue the discussion about this in this chatroom. — Martin Sleziak 47 secs ago

A comment from Mathmatics Meta on the related topic:
"I would also like to know whether the proposed tag is intended to include topological games". I don't see why not. When I think of infinite games I immediately think of Ramsey theory and, of course, determinacy. But there is much more, and it would feel natural to use the new tag in all these rather different settings. There are some continuous games that would qualify. Topological games, model-theoretic techniques, and others. — Andrés E. Caicedo 4 mins ago

I think topological games are fine for this tag. I had had in mind mostly "recreational" style infinite games, like chess, go and Sudoku, since the infinitary versions of such games seem to form a natural kind that is not well-served by the combinatorial game theory or determinacy tags. But of course there are fuzzy boundaries.

Thanks for the response!
There is also tag - I'd guess some of the question about infinite games fall under that tag, too.

It seems to me that the infinite-games tag should be used when there is a specific infinitary game at hand. The determinacy tag, in contrast, makes sense when one is considering the determinacy of a large class of games.
I can imagine that some people are just interested in all kinds of infinite games, and clicking on the tag:infinite-games tag should bring them to a list with questions all about various different infinite games with which to play.

I though that clarification about the topological games might be useful - and asking the tag-creator seemed as a natural thing to do.
Would you be willing to edit the tag-excerpt to include also topological games? (Of course, I can edit it myself, but at my reputation, edits on tag-info can only be made as edit suggestion.)

JDH
Go ahead and make the edit suggestion, so I know what you have in mind, and then I can approve it or whatever, if I get notified. I might also add something about the specific game aspect I just mentioned.

And of course, if it is of some interest to you, you're more than welcome to join the discussion about the same tag on Mathematics site: Math Overflow has a new “infinite games” tag. Can we get one over here? (So far the only relevant response is from Andrés E. Caicedo, who is in favor of the tag. Also he only posted this in comments, not as an answer.)
Ok, I'll try to suggest an edit.
@JDH I made edit suggestions both to tag-excerpt and tag-wiki. The latter has a more space and also can use links - so it provides a bit more space for including some content.
My main concern was about topological games. (If I ever use this tag, it will be most likely in this context - in fact I already have one question from this area.)
Thanks once again for taking your time to look into this!

I see that both edits (excerpt and body) were approved. I suppose you'll have a look and edit it further, if there are some other useful additions to the tag-info.
