I dunno how much more there is to say. I found TMiaHM had too much "Libertarianism is logical! It can solve anything! It's a dessert! It's a floor wax!"

People on this site, quite a number of them, obsess a bit too much about reviews.

My campaign slogan is "We must move forwards, not backwards. Upwards, and not forwards. And always be twirling, twirling, twirling."

@JohnRennie It's called a hallucination, because it's just making stuff up. I've seen it happen pretty much any time that an AI tries to answer a story ID question, and it also often happens if you try to make it cite sources if you've asked it some academic question

@Jenayah FTR if you had the time you'd have my vote. Or one of them, at least.

Actually I miss pretty much the long mind-twisting conversations here, and spending time on the site on general. I miss you folks. Life's taking way too much a toll these days 😴 (and spending several weeks basically without hands doesn't help either, but that's a story for another day)

@SFFBlog "A chillingly accurate portrayal of a 2019 police officer." It's too bad I can't upvote this, it made me laugh. :D

So I think a tag warning would only be halfway as effective as a general warning. Probably neither one is very effective, so this is just relative.

@galacticninja FWIW this is something we've got on our radar, I believe ASR brought it up for us to get around to at one point. I will say though that if this is something you want us to do ideally you would need to finalise the warning content.

A: Firing mods and forced relicensing: is Stack Exchange still interested in cooperating with the community?

NullI am also suspending my activity as a moderator. Combined with Rand al'Thor's suspension of activity, this means Science Fiction & Fantasy will be without its two most active moderators. I was offline this weekend on vacation when this all went down so I'm still catching up on all the discussion...

As per usual they've missed the wood for the trees. They're fixing the problem of users not being able to learn to use the site and how it works by adding some nonsense social media feature rather than going to the root cause and helping people learn how the site works

^ literature.stackexchange.com/q/24590/139 not explicitly sci-fi, but sounds like the kind of ID question that you may be good at

The first object that comes to mind is The Monolith from 2001: A Space Odyssey, but its dimensions are famously 1:4:9.

@user89575 That would be great. No, we're all a bunch of nerds wasting our life in front of the computer trying to help people we've never met with questions about universes that don't exist. But it's a hell lot of fun, otherwise we wouldn't do it.

Frankly, whenever people from this site talk about deleting "objectively wrong" answers, I'm afraid of losing every elaborate and reasonable answer that doesn't agree with whatever bullshit JKR came up with again and dared to cast as "iron law" by means of nothing but a drunk Tweet.

SE can be motivated to do it much faster in just two easy steps: (1) Come up with an argument that the lack of comment locks is somehow unwelcoming to new users. (2) Complain about it on Twitter.

^ Seriously? For an anime ID question, your example for additional information is what the main character looks like? It's an 11 year old child with spikey black hair, large eyes, small rounded mouth, and pointy chin.
