Bogdan, I'm sorry that you feel that way. Is there something in particular about MSE that you don't like, or that you think could be improved?

hmm, that'd be a great caricature: some guy tied up with a funnel on his mouth, and another guy about to pour a gallon of "Experience"...

with the usual rhetorical: "so, where can I buy this "experience" thingie?" ;)

ARGGGH! Why can't people read?! A really large portion of questions tagged (graph) should be tagged (graph-theory), and a small portion in reverse. The Wiki for (graph) clearly states that the tag is to be used for graphs of functions, and to please use (graph-theory) for the kind of graphs formed by vertices and paths!

@jrand: The first question on the site was asked Jul 20 '10 at 19:09: math.stackexchange.com/questions/1/…. See also area51.stackexchange.com/proposals/3355/mathematics where you can mouse over the times to see that the private beta began 2010-07-20 19:00:00Z and the public beta began 2010-07-27 19:00:00Z. I guess beta ended around the time of meta.math.stackexchange.com/questions/984

I guess so. He wishes to go through some AI stuff. I wish there was an industry for set theorists ;-)

All this means that instead of thinking of many different sine functions (one for degrees that returns sin(30) = 1/2, one for radians which returns sin(pi/6) = 1/2, one for some other unit of measure), you should think that there exists only one sine function, which we call S here, with a preferred unit of measurement of angles, such that the sine in degrees is just sin(x) = S(Dx) where D is the conversion factor from degrees to the preferred unit of measurement; and that

we should have a mathematics word game going or something, maybe that will revive the room

(This is an exercise in Erdös' "Topics in the theory of numbers".)
