Q: What criteria should we use for QCing for “identification-request” answers?

Shinobu OshinoWith so many 1 line name of anime answer right now. We've previously voted that we need a set of guidelines to quality control (QC) for identification-request answers These guidelines will be applied to (new and old) identification-request answers So how should we go about making these guideli...

@HellButterfly it's my first time making answer wiki I hope I didn't mess up :)

@HellButterfly I don't get it. What's the purpose of this post?
@LoganM for guidelines?
Yes, there absolutely should be. However, it's complicated by the fact that there are 2 very different types of ID requests: those with images/video and those with only memories. The guidelines for what constitutes a good answer for each type are very different, so we'd probably need 2 guides. — Logan M Jun 3 at 22:47
@ShinobuOshino No, for the post you made
@LoganM to make something like this?

A: What criteria should we use for QCing for ALL "identification-request" questions?

ʞɹɐzǝɹTaking cues from sites like TV & Movies.SE, Sci-Fi.SE, and Arqade, I've come up with the following guidelines: An identification-request should have as many of the following points as possible: Any description of the leading/recurring character(s) (i.e. physical description, behavior,...

or is it should be mod doing?
What I suggested is a "guide" for answering ID requests well. Not the establishment of a codified set of rules under which ID request answers would be judged, with those that are deemed unworthy shot-down unilaterally or by a small number of high rep users.
I want to make it easier to explain user about how to answer
one liner usualy got judged and got downvote anyway

In the first place, how do you intend to enforce this so-called "quality control"? For questions, it's (rather bizarrely) enforced by close voting because a small number of notable high-rep users on this site were not satisfied with letting the community decide on the quality of questions with their votes and only policing those questions which fundamentally require action, not just questions lacking certain (somewhat irrelevant) aspects.
so your suggestion?
I don't see the need for a post at all on this
especially when said post is mostly duplicating things which already exist on meta
will you add the answer on that question if we don't need something like that? and downvote my question/answer also
or edit it
On what question?
The most recent one?
yea
well it's meta after all
Aug 30, 2014 03:47
I don't even understand what problem you're trying to solve with it
previously I add comment like this
and I give link to the proposal answer
I want to make it more official answer
something like that
I'm not sure that's useful, but regardless, that's not what the question is asking.
uhm, that I myself not sure, you know I'm not good in English and I also bad at explaining thing (reason why I only has so little answer)
but did you got my intention?
know what I mean?
yea maybe not really usefull, but it gives them information of what should be there to answer id-request
I'm not sure what's wrong with using the current version. It's not "official", but basically nothing on meta is official anyway.
Especially with regards to how people vote on questions and answers, the only policy is "don't vote serially". Everything else is just suggestions.

hmmm, I was meant to make wiki answer so other people can add the answer to make it better
wiki give the right too change the content right?
For users with over 100 rep, yes
In any case, the way you've written it now, it seems like this is an official policy and that answers which don't do all of those will get deleted. Which is just not true.
I also don't agree on deleted answer like that
but we have flag for low quality answer
1 liner sure is low quality
and shouldn't flag meant to deleted those answer?
I dont know, CMIIW
No, that's not what the low quality flag is for
The low quality flag is horribly named. It's actually for posts which are completely incomprehensible, not just low quality.
and here I was about to vote deletion one of those old answer :p
> What criteria should we use for better “identification-request” answers?
how bout that
I remove the whole QC thing
What we need isn't a set of rules or criteria at all
(IMO)
Aug 30, 2014 04:03
guidelines?
We need something explaining what constitutes a good answer to an identification request question and how to write one. The current list doesn't do that at all really. Separating it into its own question makes it worse IMO.
> How should we answer “identification-request” question?
and what about the answer?
Answer needs serious work IMO
so, should I edit my question and delete my answer?
or edit my answer
I don't know. I'm just exhausted of discussing ID requests on meta a dozen times every month, and I don't understand what aspect of this is not already covered. You can do whatever you want, but I'm not really in the mood to advise you on the right course of action.

I see, I edit some for now, just downvote or comment if you don't agree, sorry for bother you :)
