@badp I've heard more often that I should give it away, not that we should reset it :P

@RedRiderX Did you lose connection too?

@RonanForman That crash seemed bad.
Yes

I don't know where the server is, maybe the hurricane reached it.

@RonanForman Oh, I see.

10:17 PM
Yeah, I can't ping the IP.

@RonanForman Mumble keeps timing out for me.
@RonanForman Is it the one listed here?

Q: Cooperative multiplayer iPhone games

chiborgMost online games on the iPhone like Letterpress or Carcassonne pit players against each other. Apart from DrawSomething, are there games where the players cooperate against the game mechanic or co-create something? Preferably turn-based games and not action-oriented games. Also preferably games ...

Located in Ashburn, VA that is.

@RedRiderX It's late anyway, I'll check on the server later.

@RonanForman Alright, nite.

10:31 PM
@Wipqozn WHY ALWAYS ME
@MarkTrapp It's a valid question on M&TV.SE, just uses a sci-fi as an example.
DONT BE STEALIN MAH CONTENT BOI

@TylerShads The scars. They make you seem guilty.

Actually shocker, after tonight, my gravatar will be changing

whoa, slow down there. Let's not get out of control here.

Mah head got shaved bitch

So, that is you then. I thought it was just Heath Ledger without all of his make up on.

10:35 PM
it is, but i did this pic as halloween last year

Trick or Treat (depends on your point of view)

This year ^

@Sterno It's not even Friday.

@Wipqozn But it's a special Holiday!

@TylerShads VOID RAYS VOID RAYS MASSIN UP MY RAYS

Don't worry, I'll hook you all up with a wonderful Christmas gift too

@Sterno I hope you realize we all hate you.
Ever Friday. Our hate grows stronger.

@Wipqozn EVERYBODY IS TELLING BLIZZ TO NERF THEM NERF THEM
gah, awesome image, dont wanna spam chat with it

That's... wow. That is really unnerving.

What the fuck CSS.
That is not the colour I entered in...

Are you sure?

10:41 PM
don't forget to get your free Plants vs Zombies, you pea-haters...

@agent86 Free? What's this now?
Also, I already own it, but what's this now?

@Wipqozn stopzombiemouth.com - the code is "peah8r"

user2334
@TylerShads oh, it's all yours: I wasn't trying to say it should be migrated to SciFi, just that it reminded me of questions that often pop up there

Nifty.

Dont know if thats a good thing or bad thing
@agent86 US Only
which is stupid

10:43 PM
Juan reports he couldn't get it (owing to his non-awesome country of origin)
or what @Tyler said.

@agent86 Juan lives in Not-Canada?

@TylerShads clearly you should emigrate to the US. we have free plants vs zombies.

@agent86 Yes, let me emigrate to the country i already live

What the fuck, why is my nav button border showing up as the same colour as 'visiting link' text colour...

that'll baffle the border patrol

10:44 PM
@TylerShads you probably don't live in the "real US" anyhow. only us real 'mericans do.
USA! USA!

Q: Do the Walking Dead poop?

JayCouture.comRegarding the TV show (possibly the comics) there are many instances where the walking dead are encountered eating their fill and one (2nd season) where one was opened up and a woodchuck was found in it's stomach. This shows the digestive tract must still work. Where is all the zombie poop? And ...

WHY THE HELL IS IT DOING THIS.

user2334
Because the Walking Dead don't poop, that's why.

@GnomeSlice Do you know how CSS works?
You probably have a conflict.
Also, it's possible you don't have a conflict and the CSS just hasn't refreshed yet.

user15026
@MarkTrapp O.o

10:46 PM
@MarkTrapp Seems like an ideal message for an out of context star.

user15026
How....why.... the quiet sound of her brain snapping

user2334
It's applicable to all of life's lessons, really

@Wipqozn As far as I can work out, I don't. And my CSS refreshes instantly.

@GnomeSlice Some browsers cache it, so it can be annoying.

I've been trying to fix this for like 20 minutes. I fixed it just now, but I had to re-write the border colour in the 'visited link' css
@Wipqozn I said it's not that.
I can take out what I just did to fix it and it goes back.
#navbar a:link{
width:175px;
display:inline-block;
/*color: #B0A688;*/
margin:0 1em;
padding: 0px 30px 0px 30px;
text-decoration: none;
background-color:#FFF;

border-left:5px solid #635B43;
border-top:5px solid #635B43;
border-right:5px solid #635B43;
}
#navbar a, #navbar a:visited {
color: #B0A688;

border-color:#635B43;
}

10:48 PM
@agent86 im in joizey BEYOTCH

If I don't put the border-colour back in the 'visited link' area, the border around my links is the colour of the 'visited' text.

@GnomeSlice: tl;dr: The css applied to an element is based on priority, which is based on other factors. I'm too lazy to go into all the details. But the most important thing is ID > CLASS

And it sholdn't be.

@MarkTrapp i....uh.....wut

This is all for humor b.t.w. not to be taken seriously. — JayCouture.com Apr 12 at 15:10

user2334
10:48 PM
@GnomeSlice Oh, you can't do that. All browsers nowadays prevent anything but the text color to be changed due to security

Q: not able to sell items Borderlands 2

user36295I can't seem to sell any items to vendors. I have been trying to figure it for a couple of days now. Any help would be appreciated.

@MarkTrapp huh, interesting. TIL.

@MarkTrapp I don't want the border colour to change. It's supposed to be the same colour all the time.
But if I don't put the border colour in the 'visited' area as welll, teh border comes out as the same colour as my visited text
Even though I clearly defined colours for the border in the navbar element
The border comes out as #B0A688 instead of #635B43
Which... it shouldn't.

Grenades are my new best friend against Reticulans.

Why the hell is it doing this

user2334
10:51 PM
@Wipqozn more info. Firefox was the first, but all major browsers followed suit

@MarkTrapp Yeah, makes sense. I was just unaware they started doing that.

Why is my 'color' property affecting my border colour
Wtf
Honestly, if I take OUT the 'color' too, so that the visited link text are the default purple, the BORDER turns purple

user2334
@GnomeSlice Because it's by design due to aforementioned reasons. You can't do what you're trying to do.

@MarkTrapp What m I trying to do, then.
I did what I'm trying to do in my last assignment.
The border shouldn't change colour.

user2334
Reduce the test case: jsfiddle.net/9nbzt

10:55 PM
But for some reason the border colour is the colour of my visited text, and not my border-colour which I identified in the navbar.

user2334
Oh

user2334
I see what you're trying to do

user2334
It's because your border color is in a:link. Remove the :link pseudo class

@MarkTrapp I don't want the border for the entire navbar though, just around the links.

user2334
CSS works best and least quirkily if you don't add random stuff you don't need until you absolutely need it. Do you understand what the :link pseudo-class is for? If not, remove it

user2334

@MarkTrapp Isn't it for the hyperlinks?

user2334
Remove it and see what happens

@MarkTrapp Do I correctly assume that :link would not show for anchors?
(If I have that terminology right :))

Oh wait, 'a' is for links, isn't it.
What the hell is the 'link' for then?

I dont remember much about css, but I'm pretty sure hyperlinks are just 'a'

11:01 PM
Its also how you can put a location to browse to on a page.
like you see in wiki's a lot where titles can be linked to to jump to that section of the article
<a name="NameOfThisSection/>

@MarkTrapp Hm, this didn't work.

user2334
a:link is specifically for unvisited links. Anything you put in there does not affect visited links, hence why the visited color does not change

@GnomeSlice Never assume anything based on what something is named in any computer related thing.

This is what it looked like before.
This is what it looks like when I made the 'link' thing more general to just 'a'.
Oh fuck, no it isn't.
I made a typo.
It works now.
Okay, thanks, I didn't realize 'link' was only for unvisited links.
I haven't even started the actual PHP part of this yet...
FML

user2334
Now, going back to the security thing I mentioned before, you might notice that even though a:link had the borders and a:visited did not, and a:link is only for unvisited links, the visited links still had the border. That's because browsers prevent you from changing anything other than the color of visited links, so because you had a border on the unvisited links, your visited links also had it

11:07 PM
@MarkTrapp Right, but why didn't they have the colour of the border I defined?
Shouldn't they have had the border from the unvisited links, in the same colout as the border of the unvisited links.
If I added 'border-colour- to my 'visited', it looked okay.

user2334
because that color was only defined for a:link, i.e., unvisited links. Since you can style the border, just not the layout, of visited links, it didn't inherit it

It just wasnt a great fix.
@MarkTrapp Ohhh, so links don't inherit from type to type

user2334
In conclusion, your antics have lead you down the path to a very edgy corner case

Okay! :)
@MarkTrapp What?
Which corner case is that?

user2334
a:visited inheriting styles from a:link due to a security issue

11:10 PM
@MarkTrapp It wasn't inheriting anything, that's why it wasn't working.
I just re-set the visited border colour to the one I wanted, which is why that sort of worked.

user2334
@GnomeSlice It was inheriting everything except the color. If it wasn't inheriting anything, it wouldn't have had a border at all, because you defined the border in a:link

@MarkTrapp Oh... that's weird.
Just out of curiosity
#navbar a, #navbar a:visited {
	text-color: #B0A688;

	/*border-color:#635B43;*/
}
Do I want that one to be both 'a' and 'a:visited'?
Nope.

user2334
If you want the color to always be that even when someone has visited it, sure

Since I have an 'a' now.
I guess that was my 'a' before.
@MarkTrapp So now I don't have an unvisited thing, what are my unvisited links going to look like? Just the CSS from the navbar a?

user2334
@GnomeSlice Exact same layout as a or a:link, but use the browser-defined color for visited links

user2334
11:13 PM
Which is usually purple

@MarkTrapp I don't have a link anymore though. And will my unvisited links be purple then? Whatever, I'll just leave it as a and visited.

user2334
Actually, well, the behavior is undefined. Some browsers will default to the default, others might just inherit from a

user2334
@GnomeSlice yes, do that

What the hell, my text is black, not the colour I listed.
Nevermind, typo
ffs
@MarkTrapp Thanks. =]
Okay, now I need to try to figure out the actual PHP bit
(i.e. the main part of the assingment). I'll finish styling it later.

@RedRiderX The server's back up, I think it did just crash.

Q: Is reaction of panicked alien always shooting your psi?

vartecEvery time I've successfully used panic psi attach on alien, the alien shot back at my psi-soldier and every time hitting him. I'm not sure if I'm just unlucky or it's the way the game mechanic works? Is it a glitch?

Hi friends

user2334
This suggested edit is part of a tag wiki/tag wiki excerpt suggestion. The tag wiki excerpt suggested was bad, and the tag wiki suggestion is also bad, but would make a suitable excerpt

user2334
So please to be rejecting the tag wiki suggestion so the tag wiki excerpt can be resuggested

@RonanForman Good, but it's a little late for me to be doing much right now.

@RedRiderX We didn't lose anything as far as I can tell.

Q: How Do I Get Out of a Breaking Point Submission?

YuckI haven't played WWE '12 and the instructions for WWE '13 are terrible. There is also no in-game interactive tutorial, so I'm lost as to how I can get out of a BREAKING POINT submission once someone puts me in it.
