7:00 PM
I clicked it, for the heck of it.

We can't make/answer puzzles by keeping everyone happy.
lol
I do it everytime

lol
I was trying to get the link to a particular answer

KK - it happens at a certain rep
1000 maybe?

ahh
Figured out how to get what I needed, though - share button

7:04 PM
Trying to think of another clue for the coin puzzle, per Dailey's request, but..
I honestly can't think of anything else
Fine, it's close enough to the end of the bounty, I'll just give this one....

@Khale_Kitha You always change the topic :p

I never changed the topic.
I just added a new one.
I keep 10+ topics in my head at once =D
I run my browser with 300+ tabs, and generally remember what I have open in most of them - it's annoying.

wow.

Okay, new hint added.
It reveals half of the puzzle (a half that should have been already figured out, imo)

My internet can have long lasting damage if I do this

7:08 PM
There's still another half that I could reveal, but want to wait on.
When I do it right, I use firefox's tab groups (now an addon, as it was migrated), but I tend to only do that at work.

and you are at work right now?

Yeah, though I'm only working on one project. At my previous job, I was usually working on 3-4 at once, so I needed the tab groups to separate my research.

wow. they let you do puzzling there. It's cool

I do it while I'm waiting on things in the background, honestly. I setup my visual studio so the height is just low enough that I can see this tab to see when there's updates.

so it means that there is always something in the background

7:13 PM
@question_asker You made my Excel upset. It's taking 2-3 minutes to open a simple CSV file today.
Yeah

nice :)

I use a feature from DisplayFusion, also, that lets me scroll windows without clicking them, first.
So I can scroll between the tabs, or read other things, without clickingo n them
lol

how much memory does it take. Does it slow your PC?

DisplayFusion?

yeah

7:16 PM
It takes about 80Mb - but that's not it's sole purpose.

Yeah..I just checked

It's a multimonitor utility for moving windows around, rearranging things, showing the taskbar a certain way, etc.

It's not free

No, I purchased it a few years ago
The devs let me use it on my work PC and my home PC, as long as I'm the only one using it (I asked)

nice :)
@question_asker Do you also puzzle while at work?

7:19 PM
I think he got busy

haha

He disappears, though, at about exactly 5pm EST everyday, so I'd guess "yes" lol

What's the time right now in US?

3:20 for him

yes I do

7:22 PM
here is the groom

and yeah, I tend to disappear sometime between 4 and 5 EST, as that's when I'm going home

Yeah, that's what I meant =D

I actually keep SE on my phone, so I hear when you guys contact me when I'm driving, but I ignore my phone, in the car.

When are you gonna sit in your car then?

7:23 PM
When will then, be now?

I am just loving the meta question about offence. I can smell the fight from far away

soon

And I am gonna enjoy it for sure

Haha, Matt. You just pop in with the perfect interjections.

reload your pop-corns

7:26 PM
Don't run off, just yet, Matt - I have something for you

@Matt Do you also do puzzling while at work?

Oh no!

sometimes
I also work

that meta question is either going to be ugly or get totally ignored lol

Sapience apparently left Lord of the Rings Online, a while back, and I didn't notice...

7:27 PM
at home, I usual just play games

Well anyways - someone copied the info from his profile onto a page.
Please keep in mind; the measurements below are highly accurate (as are their relationships to each other). However, the descriptions are for entertainment purposes only. Unless you win money, then you owe me 10%.

**NOW!**

Never gonna happen!

**At some point in the future (also; At some point)**

We’re in pure Nostradamus territory here. We have a magic 8 ball and even it said, “Ask again later”.

**In the future**

This isn’t going to happen during any variety of soon you care to use. In fact, it’s pretty far out there. Not as far as ‘at some point’, but we’re certainly not suggesting y
2
So you can star it.

@question_asker we are gonna have fun.
That meta post is especially for me.

wait, why is this important?

@Matt Can you suggest any game under 2GB for PC

Because it's information that must never be lost, now that Sapience is gone.
Magicka
I can name a lot of them
More if I could connect to my PC at home :P
FTL

7:30 PM
^

Half Minute Hero

nidhogg
super meat boy

There's quite a few games under 300Mb

VVVVVV

rocket league is recommends 2GB
and I recommend rocket league

7:31 PM
I gave up on super meat boy early on, but it's fun if you can deal with repeated failure

Tried that on PS4 and didn't like it (rocket league) - at least on a controller.
Yeah, I got through about 30 levels before I refused to move another inch, q_a

hahaha
VVVVVV has a dope soundtrack too

I think I played a game like VVVVVV back in the 80's
lol

and if you don't want to play it, at least do yourself the favor of watching some TAS runs of it

emulated games from snes, etc

7:32 PM
TAS?
Omg, Matt

tool assisted speedruns

I ran into a game, the other day - my new favorite game of all time
(ah, right)

what he said

Brawhalla

I mean, watch regular speedruns if you want, but a TAS is going to be flawless and beautiful

7:33 PM
It's basically an improved version of Super Smash Bros with internet play

project M

Well that's because they have to, q_a, since they are done in slow motion

or 20xx

Still done in slow motion, though - the commands are entered in while the game isn't moving, in an emulator.
Test, repeat, test, repeat, etc

TASers play through a game frame by frame, and use input scripting tools to achieve perfect (and in some cases, humanly impossible) inputs to get through a game as fast as possible
it's not always beatiful

7:35 PM
yeah

it's almost always broken

As for 20xx - seems nice - but I actually like the improvements done in Brawlhalla

impossible being something like left + right contemporaneously

no, I know how TASing works

Thank you all

7:35 PM
Each character has two weapons, with unique abilities determined by what's equipped (or if unequipped) and weapons drop randomly in the maps, so it's also a race to get to the weapons, or keep them away from people.

what I'm saying is that the end product often looks incredibly nice

Yeah

more games

I have bookmarked this convo. : chat.stackexchange.com/rooms/info/37632/…

The Stanley Parable
geometry wars

7:36 PM
Stanley Parable is decent

keep talking and nobody explodes (I really like this one)

Though most of my time was spent just trying to get achievements
Haven't tried it, yet

SP blew my mind haha

omg at the stars

idk how big besiege is

7:37 PM
Die stars!

Unreal Tournament

cities skylines? probably not

Heck, if you really want to get into it...
(No, not at all, Matt)
Commander Keen
:P
That was the first game I played with CGA+ graphics

I had a few dos games
way back
hoyle

like DAVE

7:38 PM
Haha, I remember the Hoyle games

some kind of pinball ...
it was race car themed

that's windows xp game

I remember one Windows 95 (or 3.1?) game where you played a Roach

no, not this one

Trying to solve a murder of a person dead in the room where you started.
I don't remember the game, but I still have the demo disk.

7:39 PM
the space cadet pinball game was included in later versions of windows

chiming in that I liked stanley parable
it was cute and fun

You're meaning Epic Pinball, I think

I'm a person who likes things that gamers get mad about, though

sounds familiar
things to get mad about?
haha
I wanna be the boshy.
^ precision platformer based on memorization of ever-creative traps

I dislike memorization games

7:42 PM
I mean: I thought Gone Home was fine

That's why I didn't like Super Meat Boy et al

Anyone played Road-rash?

Gone Home was an interesting ...well non-game, really

I thought various other "it's not a game!!!!!!!!!!!!" games were good

Yes, very much, mushu
I think Gone Home is really just a 3d digital novel - a game without a genre, per se

7:42 PM
I dislike games on rails

A digital novel, albeit, where you can miss clues if you don't look around

I like sandboxes
and car games

I like some games on rails, and I like some sandboxes.
Unequivocally, there are games in both genres that I hate.
I greatly dislike open-world for the sake of open-world, though.
Oh look, it's a world. Go do something.

how about open world for the sake of blowing things up?

Okay, I'll do something.

7:44 PM
just cause 3

Uninstalls
The just cause games were cute during their 15 minute demos
but I never saw reason to purchase the game.

I bought JC2 when it was $2

lol

I didn't get very far because I died at some point in the beginning literally immediately in front of a turret gun

me too, actually

7:45 PM
which would be fine if I could respawn literally anywhere else

The AI in JC2 was too much of a joke to enjoy the game, to me.

but it was never about the AI

Haha, that reminds me of a section a few of us got stuck in, in Skyforge, q_a.
We ran past this group of enemies and got killed by them. However, the problem was this...
We spawned about 10ft from them - in their aggro radius...INSIDE the boss dome. So they both spawn, and if we died (we did 20+ times) we respawned in that spot again.
Took a lot of strategy to finally get outselves out of that situation.
The situation was caused by the level bugging out, but it was still an experience. LoL

hahahaha yow

I simply meant, Matt, because I didn't like being "seen" by everything in the game from miles away, regardless of which direction they were facing.

7:48 PM
JC2 seems like it would be fun the same way all the GTA games seem like they'd be fun to me

Hahahahahaa
Look at Q_A's comment on his most recent puzzle.

They seem like they'd be fun if I could just skip all the bullshit introductory quests
yeah, that is awesome

you want frustrating, I had a spiderman game for pc years ago that was literally unplayable

I've had a few of those - heh

get through the short first stage, enter the loading zone for the first boss' cutscene
spiderman was intended to crash through the window in the cutscene

7:50 PM
(Hey @manshu were you limited by USB drive limit?)

the window broke, but spiderman never entered

lol
Gotta love that

then you spawn outside the building
and fall to your death
without fail
uninstalls

I remember the beta for Asheron's Call 2, before they abandoned the game, then remade it and released it (then cancelled it)

@Khale_Kitha ahh..what?

7:52 PM
Crafting in that game required 4-5 items to craft anything, you only had an inventory of 6 items, and everything you picked up was better than anything you could craft. Ther wasn't much else to do in the game, besides it. Lol
(manshu) the reason for your question, previously?

OK so Emrakul's answer on that meta question is really good

@question_asker you just ruined this whole topic
@Khale_Kitha which question

manshu you are so cruel

@Matt So I think that the hint has to do with looking at your hands when you type.

evil laugh

7:53 PM
regarding games under 2Gb, manshu

too late
I already fixed it

oh...I was reading the messages...

hehe

now I am gonna bookmark this whole chat for future references

Anyone familiar with n-gram?
Dailey asked a question, regarding it, on my coin puzzle, and i don't have time to do the research, right now, to figure out what all it involves to answer him
Everytime I see webpages like this, I want to delete them.

7:55 PM
brb (thought I'd let you know this time)

like which?

n-gram is a google tool to compare words

nice.
a webpage created in 1996 and never updated
(I assume)

feels that way, aside from the reference dates
Ah - I think my answer to him is no, then manshu

7:57 PM
hehe

Oh..I think he's trying to get n-gram from gram....
But that's not an encoding...
bah.

Yeah, seen links to that before
Had(have) no idea what it's about

The word 'Frankenstein' was being used even before 1800, that's strange
Dailey really wants your puzzle solved

The German name Frankenstein commonly refers to various aspects of a 19th-century novel written by Mary Shelley, but was originally a place name. Both uses include: == The novel == Frankenstein, the title of Mary Shelley's 1818 novel, subtitled The Modern Prometheus Victor Frankenstein, the title character of Shelley's novel Frankenstein's monster, the character that is the subject of Shelley's novel == Castles == Frankenstein Castle, Hesse, a 13th-century hilltop castle near Darmstadt, Germany, speculated to be the eponym for Shelley's novel Frankenstein Castle, Palatinate, a 12th-cent...
13th, 12th century et al

8:04 PM
aahh..

8:18 PM
I'm sorry...
I'm very upset with Frontier, too...
But this guy's name just really puts the joke to any complaints he makes:
Butthurt McGee ‏@butthurt_mcgee Apr 4

@FrontierCorp @Kopfhamer hey frontier Corp. is this all just a cruel April fools joke? Seriously can't believe how bad y'all are
Any further ideas for the puzzles, @manshu?

Use any famous game. I know which one I am gonna choose for my next puzzle

lol
I meant for solving either of mine =D

damn...I just gave away a hint...even before posting a puzzle

Coming up on 100+ hours of no service from Frontier ><
and lol, manshu

I can't think anything right now.
bcz i need sleep

8:22 PM
hah, Kk

8:59 PM
@HughMeyers I appreciate you saying that, btw...

9:12 PM
Aww, man! I miscounted on the coin puzzle.
@Matt D'oh! LoL
@all Please note that the slip of paper had an incorrect value and has been updated! — Khale_Kitha 5 mins ago
That's embarrassing, with how long that puzzle's been up.
