@Manuel I forgot something: You can change your e-mail-address independent of your login. I have another e-mail-address used for the login process (for Open-ID), but could fill in again the other formerly used one in my profile. And if I would not use my personal icon, I would in this way the old gravatar get back.

1:55 AM
@egreg Did you try winfonts? :-) I did not check, but I’m quite sure it lacks maths support. So newtxmath or the like would be needed anyway.
@egreg Oupps, without comments this package consists in these 6 lines:
\NeedsTeXFormat{LaTeX2e}%
\ProvidesPackage{winfonts}%
[2006/01/13 v1.0 winfonts (Math Design Project)]
\renewcommand{\encodingdefault}{T1}
\RequirePackage{textcomp}
\endinput
@egreg But there are font definitions a some supporting package files, too.

5 hours later…
6:31 AM
@egreg: Hi there. Was reviewing you answer to tex.stackexchange.com/questions/22076/…, and think that the two \pder following the EDIT: were intended to be \der.

2 hours later…
8:18 AM
Can anybody provide me with version of \subarray independent of amsmath?
And what i'm really after is just :-) complete explanation of subarray code ;-)

8:32 AM
but minus amsmath specific parts, of course

@AndrewZabavnikov amsmath is pretty complex: not easy to extract out parts!

@JosephWright Yep, know that of ;-) But looking into code pretty inaccurate way gives me thoughts that alternative can be written in spirit of Plain TeX's matrix. Am i wrong?

@AndrewZabavnikov Not really a math typesetting person, so I'm not confident
You can get things working with a relatively small amount of the code:
\documentclass{article}
\makeatletter
\def\Let@{\let\\\math@cr}
\def\math@cr{\relax\iffalse{\fi\ifnum0=`}\fi
  \@ifstar{\global\@eqpen\@M\math@cr@}%
          {\global\@eqpen
             \ifnum\dspbrk@lvl <\z@ \interdisplaylinepenalty
              \else -\@getpen\dspbrk@lvl \fi
           \math@cr@}}
\def\restore@math@cr{\def\math@cr@@@{\cr}}
\def\math@cr@{\@ifnextchar[\math@cr@@{\math@cr@@[\z@]}}
\def\math@cr@@[#1]{\ifnum0=`{\fi \iffalse}\fi\math@cr@@@
  \noalign{\vskip#1\relax}}
\newhelp\tag@help
The only non-copy-paste there is I've stuck with the kernel \@ifnextchar
I suspect the tag stuff could happily be edited out

@JosephWright well i'm using latex anyway, so kernel is not a problem (or is \@ifnextchar in amsmath? don't remember...)

@AndrewZabavnikov The AMS version doesn't do space skipping: all to do with \\ ... [

8:45 AM
@JosephWright How did you do it, exactly? That requires thorough knowledge of LaTeX sources, right? (for filtering out standard macros)

@AndrewZabavnikov I took a more brute-force approach: set up a test (copied from the AMS manual), copy the \subarray code, run, error, find the required macro, copy, run, ...

@JosephWright Yes, that's true.

ooh my cheese cake is good!

I think somebody here (or everyone except me) knows what the \fontdimens in above mean?

@AndrewZabavnikov I surely don't know. :) I'm here because of the ducks. :)

9:00 AM
@PauloCereda :-) What are the ducks, BTW?
@PauloCereda ok, looked up dictionary. ducks=folcks, right?

@AndrewZabavnikov Ducks as in quack quack I'm a duck. :) This is our recurring theme, apparently. :)
@AndrewZabavnikov actually, literal ducks. :P

@PauloCereda There are 65 hits if you search TeX.SX for "duck" tex.stackexchange.com/search?q=duck :-)

@NicolaTalbot LOL

@NicolaTalbot And 972 if you search the chat.

@TorbjørnT. LOL :-)

9:03 AM
@TorbjørnT. Oh my!

Oct 24 '12 at 9:09, by Paulo Cereda
I need to post more ducks here. :)

@PauloCereda To be fair, there is some ducking as well, for example chat.stackexchange.com/transcript/41?m=3398974#3398974, not just ducks.

@AndrewZabavnikov It's an arcane TeX command that stores information about font parameters.

@TorbjørnT. LOL

9:09 AM
@NicolaTalbot Yeah, that's obvious. And now, thanks to you, I remember - i was just too tired or lazy yesterday to look up it in TeXbook.

@AndrewZabavnikov :-)
@PauloCereda There seem to be an awful lot of starred comments involving ducks
5

@NicolaTalbot ooh!

9:34 AM
@NicolaTalbot Yes, I thought TeX was supposed to have a lion theme, not a duck theme. Someone has better tell Donald Knuth.

@FaheemMitha :-)

David Carlisle For text fonts there are 7 parameters 1 slant per pt (used for italic correction) 2 interword space (standard width of the space ) 3 interword stretch (amount the space can stretch) 4 interword shrink (amount the space can shrink) 5 x-height (the value for the ex unit) 6 quad-width (The...

@DavidCarlisle Oh, thank you very much. Yesterday googling seems now very ieffective.

It would seem that the most effective way of getting a comment starred is to ensure you include the word "duck" in it :-)

10:32 AM
Heya
Is there any way to make the chapters in a book be on the right hand side of the page for odd pages, and on the left hand side for even pages?

10:53 AM
@N3buchadnezzar What class are you using?

@NicolaTalbot Not memoir, using book at the moment

@NicolaTalbot seems that way:-)

11:08 AM
@N3buchadnezzar book is very difficult to customise. I recommend switching to either scrbook or memoir.
\documentclass[open=any,chapterprefix]{scrbook}

\usepackage{etoolbox}
\usepackage{lipsum}% dummy text

\addtokomafont{chapter}{\ifnumodd{\value{page}}{\raggedleft}{\raggedright}}

\begin{document}

\chapter{Sample}

\lipsum[1-15]

\chapter{Another Sample}

\lipsum

\end{document}
@DavidCarlisle :-)

@N3buchadnezzar [openany] ?
@NicolaTalbot ah you want the heading to move? As Nicola said then, or probably one of the title customisation packages could do that.

11:43 AM
3
@AlanMunn: ^^ :)

12:08 PM
@NicolaTalbot Paulo probably wrote a bot for that.

@StephanLehmke LOL :-) Hey, @Paulo, does Psmith have a hidden function we don't know about?

@NicolaTalbot I guess no. :)

@DavidCarlisle Oh no!

12:27 PM
@PauloCereda What does this arara error message mean?
I'm sorry, but the command set for the 'datatooltk' task
(referencing the 'datatooltk.yaml' file located at
'/home/nlct/.arara/rules') has an unavailable variable/method in
the rule context: '<unknown>'

@NicolaTalbot The template engine could not resolve a variable. Could you post the rule for me? :)
Yay I got the Yearling badge again! @egreg will get his three days after. :P
Or two days, I can't remember.

I started a package to handle my CV, and as I hope it could be helpful for others, I put it online: git@bitbucket.org:drorata/cv4myself.git
I would like to make it better, and to that end I need some input. It is (almost) my very first attempt... So be gentle, please...

@PauloCereda This is really good, and very funny too. It's actually quite accurate and the animation is great.

@AlanMunn I knew you'd like it. :)

12:46 PM
@NicolaTalbot This seems to fix it but it also changes the margins, the font and many other things as well
Also the right left centering seems to be off on my document, it centers the pages "the wrong way"

!config
# DatatoolTk rule for arara
identifier: datatooltk
name: DatatoolTk
command: <arara> datatooltk @{options} --output @{output} --csv @{csv} --sql @{sql} --in @{in} --sqldb @{sqldb} --name @{name} --probsoln @{probsoln}
arguments:
- identifier: options
  flag: <arara> @{parameters.options}
- identifier: output
  flag: <arara> @{parameters.output}
- identifier: csv
  flag: <arara> @{parameters.csv}
- identifier: name
  flag: <arara> @{parameters.name}
- identifier: sql
  flag: <arara> @{parameters.sql}
@PauloCereda ^^
@N3buchadnezzar The koma classes are European so they default to A4. If you want letter, you need to add letterpaper to the list of class options.

@NicolaTalbot Let me try. :)
@NicolaTalbot: I suspect in is a reserved keyword for the template thingy, could you rename it?

@PauloCereda Ah, I didn't think of that. Perhaps I should rename it input.

@NicolaTalbot I tell you, I have no idea of what my tool does. :P

@PauloCereda :-) Changing in to input has got rid of that error. Now I need to work out how to fix the next error ;-)

1:01 PM
@NicolaTalbot ooh gimme a hint! :)

@PauloCereda In the command: line I need to skip the switches that have empty arguments. So, for example, if I do arara: datatooltk: --output duck.dbtex --csv duck.csv it should ignore the --sql, --in, --probsoln etc switches.

@NicolaTalbot Ah! Add the switches to the flag line of each argument. :)
For example:
- identifier: sql
  flag: <arara> --sql @{parameters.sql}
In the command context, sql will be empty if not provided in the file directives. :)

@PauloCereda Oh, that's clever. I probably ought to read the manual ;-)

@NicolaTalbot Don't do that. :)
@NicolaTalbot: if you want some fun, I suggest you use arara in Russian. :)

@PauloCereda :-) Will the messages be clearer? ;-)
@PauloCereda Yay, it works!

1:09 PM
@NicolaTalbot Probably not. But they will be different. :)
@NicolaTalbot Yay!

@PauloCereda Here's how it looks now:
!config
# DatatoolTk rule for arara
identifier: datatooltk
name: DatatoolTk
command: <arara> datatooltk @{options} @{output} @{csv} @{sql} @{input} @{sqldb} @{name} @{probsoln} @{sort} @{sortcase} @{seed} @{shuffle} @{sep} @{delim} @{csvheader}
arguments:
- identifier: options
  flag: <arara> @{parameters.options}
- identifier: output
  flag: <arara> --output @{parameters.output}
- identifier: csv
  flag: <arara> --csv @{parameters.csv}
- identifier: sep
  flag: <arara> --sep @{parameters.sep}
- identifier: delim

@NicolaTalbot Pretty good!

@PauloCereda :-) Since I'm now officially a member of the team ;-) can I add it to the official arara dist?
@N3buchadnezzar This makes it a bit more like the standard book layout:
\documentclass[chapterprefix,paper=letter,headings=openany,headings=big]{scrbook}

\usepackage{lipsum}% dummy text

\addtokomafont{disposition}{\rmfamily }
\addtokomafont{chapter}{\ifthispageodd{\raggedleft}{\raggedright}}

\begin{document}

\chapter{Sample}

\lipsum[1-15]

\chapter{Another Sample}

\lipsum

\end{document}

1:24 PM
=D

@NicolaTalbot ooh! :) Sure, I'll send you an email about some ideas, and I'll add you to the list of committers in the repository. :)

@PauloCereda Oh, what have I let myself in for? :-)

@NicolaTalbot Strange question, can i flip the centration for the pages?
Excuse my english but it is a tad hard to explain.
I have a frontpage with a title and alike. Then the preface is on the next page.
The second page of the book is centered to the right, while it should be centered to the left

@PauloCereda I'll get it on March 24.

@egreg The yearling one? No, you'll get it on this saturday, I guess.

1:31 PM
@PauloCereda I got my two badges on March 24 in 2012 and 2013, so I guess it's the same this year.

@egreg Oh.

2:03 PM
@N3buchadnezzar You could try something like \KOMAoptions{BCOR=16mm,DIV=classic}. Alternatively, you could use the geometry package.

@NicolaTalbot I have used the geometry package before, but never for switching the margins for odd and even pages.

2:25 PM
From a recent question: “Mantener la vaca en corrales”. LaTeX is spreading out. :)

@N3buchadnezzar The koma classes use the typearea package (comes with the koma bundle) to set the page layout, but if you're familiar with geometry you might find that easier to use. (I can't remember the geometry syntax off the top of my head, but it will be in the manual.)

@N3buchadnezzar Add the option twoside, to begin with.

@egreg Yeah =) I just tried that
@egreg That only made the margins wider, I do not want the margins wider >.<

@egreg :-)

*Tries asymetric

2:32 PM
@GonzaloMedina -- you deleted an answer on (tex.stackexchange.com/questions/155584/…), but you shouldn't have -- it's really what the op wants, although he wasn't really clear about it.

@N3buchadnezzar It's easier if you tell what you want to accomplish.

How does one avoid the title page to be a part of the left right centering by the book class?

@N3buchadnezzar \newgeometry and \restoregeometry.

Centering the first page, and then start the left right centering
Removing the titlepage of the document gives correct odd and even margins =)
Using the geometry package decreases the margins , is there any way to restore them? Eg what should one use as default settings in the geometry package?

2:59 PM
@PauloCereda Erm... found a teeny problem with arara. Have sent you an email.

@NicolaTalbot Got it. :) Let me check. :)

@PauloCereda Thanks! :-)

@Nicola: ooh I discovered something interesting thanks to you. :)

@PauloCereda Is the universe safe? :-)

@NicolaTalbot Apparently yes. :)

3:10 PM
@PauloCereda Yay! :-)

Everything is fine now. Just me being silly again, thanks a bunch for the help. blushes

@egreg Fight the urge.

@PauloCereda No, HV.

@egreg Oh.

Oskar PerssonIs it possible to add a vertical line before the last column in a matrix created with the gauss package? I need it to look something like this This is a workaround but not a nice one. $\begin{gmatrix}[p] 1 & 2 & | & 3 \\ 4 & 5 & | & 9 \rowops \swap{0}{1} \end{gmatrix}$

Typical, I try to steal egreg's tick and get downvoted for my effort:( tex.stackexchange.com/questions/155604/…
@egreg ^^^^
@PauloCereda in depth analysis of the OP's problem, I think you meant to say.

@DavidCarlisle Looks like you succeeded in getting the tick.

@NicolaTalbot oh good, I'm sure @egreg will be happy for me!

@DavidCarlisle :-)

@DavidCarlisle Typical for a newcomer: choosing the worse answer. :P
@PauloCereda Somebody downvoted the answer. Not I.

@egreg Neither did I. I have no votes.

4:43 PM
@PauloCereda I suspected so. ;-)

@egreg Actually, I'm out of votes about 10 minutes after getting them. :)

@egreg I was tempted to instead suggest \let\@font@warning\@font@info but thought you might tell me off for using package redefinitions at document level:-)

Oops. Didn't notice that was a new user. I should've put a welcome message with the request for a MWE.

@David @egreg Can you explain me now how the term "execution" sounds in TeXnicians' language or what "expansion" could mean (somebody said it could mean more than one thing)? Or just point me to page in TeXbook :-)

4:59 PM
@AndrewZabavnikov expansion is a defined (and most fundamental) part of the TeX processing but "execution" is a generic term. The word does not appear in the TeXBook so it means whatever you understand it to mean.

@AndrewZabavnikov “expansion” is the process by which TeX replaces a macro (and its arguments) with the defined replacement text. In the case of expandable primitives, this replacement text is usually empty, but the expansion itself has other effects; for instance the effect of the expansion of \expandafter is to trigger the expansion of the second token after it.

@egreg Then what is the process that handles different assignments, for example?

@DavidCarlisle Is there a reason why, in lscape.sty you set \textheight in the landscape environment, but not \textwidth?

@AndrewZabavnikov TeXBook calls it assignment:-)
@egreg because I thought it a brilliantly cunning plan. I have a link....

@DavidCarlisle And the process handling glue? Or box construction?
There is no common name?

5:03 PM
not a bug, just a design compromise. lscape doesn't rotate the page head/foot and if you change \textwidth many settings of the page head went wrong. \linewidth is normally used within the page so it was safer to set that. — David Carlisle Apr 26 '13 at 20:14

So the process that eats \hfil, \vbox, etc... I meant unexpandable primitives, if i have mistaken...

@AndrewZabavnikov TeXBook has this whole body analogy "eyes" "stomach" etc, which I don't like much but when you need to talk in detail about the process it is best to stick to those terms.
@AndrewZabavnikov "eats" being a good word as TeXbook calls it the stomach

Just crossed my mind. I think Knuth had quite a bad opinion of what comes out from TeX...

@AndrewZabavnikov also note that while "expansion" is defined as a process there is not really a definition of "the expansion" of a token (in the sense that people normally mean of full expansion. \def\a{A} \def\b{\a} the expansion of \b is \a, in this case you can say its full expansion is A but in general that may not be defined, consider \def\a{\setbox0\hbox{z}\ifdim\ht0>1pt X\else Y\fi} \def\b{\a} now the full expansion of \b isn't really defined.

@AndrewZabavnikov When TeX finds an unexpandable token, it sends it to the “stomach”, which might request the macro processor (the mouth) some other tokens as arguments and expansion can take place or not, depending on the token. For instance, \hskip will trigger expansion of the following tokens looking for a glue specification; similarly, \uppercase triggers expansion in order to find an open brace; then the balanced text is sent to the stomach, uppercased and resent to the macro processor.
It's impossible to clearly distinguish between the two stages, because they're carried on together.

5:11 PM
@egreg Yeah, that had been already understood.
@DavidCarlisle same
And from what I understood yesterday, there is no way to force stomach ask mouth to call my macro after processing the current unexpandable?
But the case of \afterassignment and the like, of course.
@egreg @DavidCarlisle So, what i was trying to figure out yesterday was also which unexpandables are not changing the box to which subscripts and superscripts are applied.... Now at first it seems to me that it can be anything but \hbox and \vbox. But i know way too little about boxes, so it's just guesses :-(
What are the \limits and \nolimits in terms of boxes? Or is that incorrect question?
Or is that question that i should look answer for in TeX by Topic?

5:28 PM
@Werner: Do you teach calculus? I have a question here. Nobody in math.sx.com is interested to just confirm whether or not my calculation is correct. What do you think? The result is very important to show there is a misconception in regarding a vibrated rope as a traveling wave where every point on the rope vibrates up and down perpendicularly to the propagation vector.

@AndrewZabavnikov In any given case yes, but probably not in general, if you are doing an assignment you want \afterassignment, if doing a box assignment you want \aftergroup if ...
@AndrewZabavnikov in math mode tex constructs a math list (and \limits affects that process) then at the end of the math tex processes the math list to make a horizontal list of boxes (described in detail in appendix G of texbook)

@DavidCarlisle Thank you very much! Seems to be very important negative result!

5:42 PM
or not...
Is the list of primitives in TeX By Topic, p. 201, exhaustive for math mode?
Ohhhh....
Seems to very hard to hack into TeX art.

@AndrewZabavnikov It is an incorrect question.

6:01 PM
Hello at all. Take a look on How do I make tabu and multicol play nice with each other?, please. In my eyes this question should be closed, cf. comments and the overwhelming reaction of the OP, emm not-reaction. This BTW an example for my complaining last time: It seems, this does not pop up in the review.

@Speravir I usually find nothing in the review queues.

@egreg Yes, I do not understand. Yesterday I went through all tagged Koma-Script and TeXnicCenter postings and intiated several closings. These were all in the review queue and are closed. Another posting I initiated for closing got 4 votes in a day, but then no fifth vote came …

6:17 PM
You only see stuff to review if you've never looked at that post before, I think

6:35 PM
@JosephWright Maybe, but this would be a bad design decision of programmers IMHO.
@GonzaloMedina I guess you weren't noticed: See Barbara's chat posting chat.stackexchange.com/transcript/message/13353884#13353884
@TorbjørnT. How did you get thie shorter URL version? I only get the long versions like chat.stackexchange.com/transcript/message/3398974#3398974.

@Speravir Is it much shorter? That specific link came from a search result.

@TorbjørnT. Not much, but a bit. OK then. The longer you get from the message itself (“permalink”).
@TorbjørnT. Just compared. It saves only 3 characters, but this works, too: chat.stackexchange.com/transcript/41?m=3398974 – the second appearance of posting number and the hash sign before can be safely omitted.

7:04 PM
When I do \immediate\write\@auxout{\unexpanded{\def\foo#1{\def\bar##1{#1 ##1}}}} my #'s get doubled. Why does this happen and more importantly how do I prevent it.

evening, everyone!

@tohecz hi there

so it turns out that my ear inflammation are probablythe mumps, no matter that I was vaccinated :(

@tohecz Hi, how are you today?

@Speravir it's probably a bit better, I'm at least able to sleep, having had only 3 painkillers today so far

7:09 PM
@tohecz Seems, it goes slightly upwards.

@Speravir yep, the problem is that if it's the mumps, then I infected the whole conference. Since the efficiency of the vaccination is only 75--85%, some people will likely get it as well, in 2 weeks

@tohecz Oh … Aah it is “mumps” in English, too?!

Mumps (epidemic parotitis) is a viral disease of the human species, caused by the mumps virus. Before the development of vaccination and the introduction of a vaccine, it was a common childhood disease worldwide. It is still a significant threat to health in developing countries, and outbreaks still occur sporadically in developed countries. Painful swelling of the salivary glands – classically the parotid gland – is the most typical presentation. Painful testicular swelling (orchitis) and rash may also occur. The symptoms are generally not severe in children. In teenage ...
It's not "mumps" in Czech, rather "příušnice" :D

@tohecz Yes, I looked exactly in the moment.

@Speravir it's very painful :(

7:21 PM
@tohecz Yey, I darkly remember.

@Speravir i do not. I just hope that having pased the disease now, I'll be truly vaccinated now for the rest of my life. I don't know how painful it is to give birth, but I think that this could concur

@tohecz We only could ask a woman having both childs born and mumps. Will be away from computer for a while.

@Speravir ok, see you later, I go for a dinner

@tohecz Yup

7:36 PM
@tohecz: Hi Tom! I hope you are feeling better!

@PauloCereda I'm quite not :( I mean, I do feel better from the objective point of view: I can sleep, and painkillers seem to work a bit better. But knowing that for the rest of the meeting I should not go into the scientific crowd since it's highly infective ... :(
as well, I won't surely come ansd speak to my supervisor for 2 weeks when I'm back: He's got a 9-month-old boy who's of course not vaccinated yet
@JosephWright personal experience, Joseph?

@tohecz Yup, had the 'full set' when I as at primary school (mumps, measles, german measles)

@JosephWright oh my! I'm supposed to be vaccinated you know ...

@tohecz Oh. :(

@PauloCereda btw, a task when I get to my hotel room from dinner: write to my supervisor and tell him what's happenning here

7:45 PM
@tohecz It's a good and sensible idea.

@PauloCereda yep
so, later!

@JosephWright I'm quite impressed I never got mumps, as it was very common when I was a lil' kid.
@tohecz See ya Tom! Get well soon!

@PauloCereda you were likely a transmitter then ;)

@tohecz Hey I was a good kid. :)

@PauloCereda LOL

7:57 PM
@DanielE.Shub why? because that's the way it is (in particular the way \the\toks0 would work.) one possible workaround is {\@makeother\#\immediate\write\@auxout{\unexpanded{\def\foo#1{\def\bar##1{#1 ##1}}}}}

8:10 PM
@CodeMocker Everything seems to make sense in your question.
Ultimately you're asking whether the arc length of sin(x) over a specific interval is the same if you shift sin(x) a little...
...and this is not true in general.
It will/should only be true if the shift is done "in phase"... so by 90 degrees, or perhaps 45.

@JosephWright Indeed, I wasn't notified. Thanks!
@barbarabeeton I've undeleted the answer after reading the OP's comment to the other answer. Thanks!

9:09 PM
@DavidCarlisle wtf?
Btw, after dinner with a cup of tea and cup of hot chocolate, I feel a bit better, but still, it's very painful :(

@tohecz ?

@DavidCarlisle that code looks crazy, that's it. Well, nothing new with your code :)

@tohecz the only bit I added was \@makeother\# rest was in Daniels question in the comment above:-)

@DavidCarlisle ah ok. I didn't follow, sorry

@tohecz it's alright (I'll forgive you as you're ill:-)

9:23 PM
@DavidCarlisle well, thanks. If only such forgiveness worked as a painkiller :)

@tohecz Oh, you have the mumps? Sorry to hear that. Nasty disease.

@FaheemMitha it is, very painful. Well, so far it's only one side and only the saliva glands. I hope it won't propagate to the testes, as it knows to do :(

@tohecz Yes, that would be horrible (if it travelled south). Are you still able to work?

@FaheemMitha I'm at a conference, so no way I go there anymore, knowing I have this very infective shit
I'll be at my hotel for the next 3 days at least

@tohecz Oh, that does sound like horrible timing.
I once got a tooth ache while travelling. Abcess. Worse possible time to get sick.

@FaheemMitha well, quite. OTOH, I don't pay the bills, and I have all I need here. Still, it would be more convenient to be at home. (But what is a home for me? the 10-meter room in Paris? not quite)

10:22 PM
@tohecz You have a 10 meter room in Paris? Is that 10 square meters? :-)

@FaheemMitha yes, it is

@tohecz Yikes.
Well, I hope you feel better soon. How are you passing your time?

@FaheemMitha you know, it's cheap, I pay only 350 EUR a month
@FaheemMitha when I take painkillers, it's better. When I do not, it's a bit worse. I slept well during the day, and I'll have a sleepless night, as the 3 ones before.

@tohecz I guess that is cheap for Paris.

@FaheemMitha yep
I just don't know which is better. I have a TGV ticket from Rotterdam to Paris: it's much faster than normal train, but the pressure changes due to the hills in Picardie will be very painful. I could try to exchange the ticket for normal trains, but that's quite slow, which is not convenient anymore. Anyways, it'll be next Friday, sill a lot of time to go :)

@tohecz so you are just sitting in your hotel room alone with a computer right now? are you reading/watching videos/working? Personally I don't work well if I'm in pain, but I try. At least (some of the time) it can be a distraction. Sometimes I can be surprisingly productive because I try to bury myself in the work to escape the unpleasant sensations.

@FaheemMitha no way could I work now. I just chat with my mom or with people here, and I watch some cartoons on my PC

@tohecz Ok.
Sitcoms are also good (in moderation). I like British sitcoms.
IT Crowd, Coupling, Red Dwarf. Third Rock from the Sun (not British), you can get some old stuff on Youtube. I was recently watching some old Richard Carpenter tv series from the 70s - Catweazle and Dick Turpin.
Anyway, off to bed now. I hope you feel better soon.

I'm not much a fan of sitcoms. Couple are good tho, namely Yes, Minister
