7:28 PM
Aww, I keep missing everyone.
!!Are you still here, bot?

@aediaλ Probably

!!Yay!

@aediaλ Y U NO MAEK SENSE!? Could not understand Yay!

!!I haz a sad.

@aediaλ Y U NO MAEK SENSE!? Could not understand I haz a sad.

7:29 PM
but why?

Hi!

I haz a sad 'cause the only person awake was the bot and it doesn't even understand that I'm happy to see it.

I'm happy to see you, @aediaλ

I'm awake. It's only 8:30.

7:30 PM
Hiya!

And I'm happy to see you.

YAY!
I have been so insanely busy. I tried to get up earlier to get things done but instead I just have a headache and still not much time to chat today.
How are y'all?

I'm moving tomorrow.

Stupid headache.

@simchona Ooh! Are you excited? Stressed? Both?

7:34 PM
I'm excited; the boyfriend is stressed

What're your new digs like? Cool?

Tiny. It's like our own little shoebox
But it's ours

Little apartment?
I lived in a studio apt in the DC area for a couple years.

Yup, little apartment in NY

We didn't have any pets, just a Roomba vacuum and plants, so it was a good enough size for two people who weren't actually home that much.
Ooh NY!
You're probably not kidding about tiny then.

7:41 PM
We maybe have 400-something square feet?

My DC-area studio was actually bigger than friends' places in NY that claim to have a bedroom.
I think we had like 500 something.
It was half the size of our first apartment, which was in a suburban area that wasn't in walking distance to public transit.
It might have been hard for me to scale down but we had already gotten rid of enough stuff due to spending a year renting a bedroom from a friend in a townhouse so that we could live in Baltimore.
We decided to not have a separate couch and just used a folding IKEA futon for a couch/bed which made the living/carpeted area seem much bigger. We had a huge kitchen and bathroom compared to NYC though.

Prototypal OOP should be popularized just for its acronym

8:05 PM
@simchona I'm going to be in NY tomorrow!

Oh!
Why is everyone going to NY?
@Mr.ShinyandNew安宇 Say hi to my mother if you bump into her.

@Cerberus will do
If I run into any dutch-speaking women I'll tell them "Your gay son who studies classics says hi"

!! /define diaspora

@cornbreadninja麵包忍者 diaspora The dispersion of the Jews among the Gentiles after the Captivity.

Hmm, that doesn't make sense in this context.

8:16 PM
@Mr.ShinyandNew安宇 Umm that wouldn't be proper etiquette!
But I guess it's the thought that counts.

php is good

8:35 PM
@SOChatBot Who are you?
Are you @Shog?

@cornbreadninja麵包忍者 sry about the game.

@AndrewLeach I've seen that page, but I didn't see a command in this room.
One that the bot would be replying to.

!!/module

@MετάEd Command module does not exist.

8:38 PM
@simchona I hope your move goes easily and you get everything into your new cozy little shoebox!
Hola todos!

@SOChatBot How are we going to get home then?

I almost didn't recognize you, @MετάEd. You're different every time I see you lately (but I like the new avatar).

@aediaλ Thanks. I will probably bring back the bird one of these days. I've been having fun doing various holiday themes.

Hmm. It's broken.

@aediaλ Argh!
!!/tell Aedia How do you do?

9:03 PM
@Cerberus Command how does not exist.

Oh no, never mind. Stop that.

There's a room for hangman.

9:05 PM
I see that now.

  Hangman room

A room for playing hangman and such.
I just lost there.

That is why I deleted the original message and said "stop that".

!!/tell Cerberus echo How do you do?

@Cerberus How do you do?

Haha.

@KitFox Ahhh.

9:11 PM

@Mahnax Panda foxtrot, tango, kilo.

Do any of you folks get May long weekend?

Memorial Day, yes.

Four-day weekend? Or only three?
For students, I mean. Kids in school.

@Mahnax What's that?

9:13 PM
@Cerberus We get a four day weekend starting tomorrow.
So tomorrow, I'm going to the city.

I think just three-day weekend.

Isn't Monday Pentecost-something?
Everyone has that Monday off.

My son will be out of school by then.

@Cerberus Victoria Day.

Oh!
Why Victory?
We call it Pinkstermaandag, or Tweede Pinksterdag.

9:15 PM
No no no, Victoria.
In honour of Queen Victoria's birthday.

Ahh.
Well, she didn't manage to conquer us.

She didn't conquer us either.
Anyways, it's home-go time.
Bye!

the hangman room was first on the list. that's not right. it should always be main

Sorted by activity?

Bye!

9:24 PM
Yeah, only reason I went.

@Robusto have you seen Pusher I, II, & III pretty good imo, not sure if they work if you don't understand Danish though

Nope.
I only eat Danish, I don't understand it.

if you talk while eating you will sound Danish

No, you will sound Japanese. They're always talking with their mouths full.

@KitFox aye
I shall sort by "people" henceforth

9:32 PM
So you get the cool people first?

I guess that's how it works

But then...oh.
I have to go soon.

I should have gone already
but you're in both hangman and main, so the change in coolness will balance out

@MattЭллен I see you've botten a room.

@MετάEd yeah, I wanted to see if I could invite the bot somewhere, but that didn't work

9:35 PM
@MattЭллен I was wondering if it was a hangman ghetto.

@MattЭллен There are instructions, but I just asked the owner to do it.

yeah, that's quicker and super effective

I'm bold like that.
One of my better/more annoying qualities.
Having no shame, that is.

Good quality to have

9:38 PM
No always. Scares some people off.

I think it's better than being scared of everyone

Well, it's a result of not caring what other people think or feel.
...and therefore treating people poorly.
See? I'm not a nice person.

you're nice to me

I'm sure I have a good reason for it.

9:43 PM
All part of my cunning plan to take over the world.

I guess I am a highly influential member of society

Well, if I told you, it wouldn't be very cunning now, would it?

I don't know. you've not told me

Well, I must have dinner with my family now.
Let's write a book together later.

sounds tasty. I shall finish my limerick

9:46 PM
Good.

@KitFox It'll have to be next week, I'm away all weekend

Bai!

@MattЭллен Again?
Busy, busy.

This is the busiest May ever

9:47 PM
I hope it's fun, at least. waves

tomorrow is my brother's late night as a legally single man
byee!

As soon as we started programming, we found to our surprise that it wasn’t as easy to get programs right as we had thought. Debugging had to be discovered. I can remember the exact instant when I realized that a large part of my life from then on was going to be spent in finding mistakes in my own programs. — Maurice Wilkes discovers debugging, 1949

@MattЭллен thank god it's not his last! It's as good as dying.
@SOChatBot: You're SO full of wisdom.
See what I did there?
@Cerberus Pfingsten? Ascension day? Septuagint? Holy Crap This Weather Is Great day?

@Mitch Haha.
Pinksteren = Pfingsten, yes.
@SOChatBot Story of my life, except 60 years later.

I mean it's like this, the good part of Spring is here where it's not raining profusely (or apologizing profusely) but it's also not air conditioner weather yet. Best time of year.
@Cerberus You troll! I thought you weren't a programmer!

9:59 PM
@Mitch Everyone agrees.
@Mitch Well, I'm not.
But I try, occasionally. In Autohotkey.
Which is almost a full programming language.

@Cerberus Everyone should or they're just dumb. Or living in the wrong place (and places themselves can be right or wrong).

Agreed.
Rain is bad. Cold is bad. Heat is bad.

@Cerberus I won't quibble with that. Mostly because quibbling is a disgusting activity that only quibblers do. yechhh.

We wants 20 °C, sunny, with a mild breeze.

@Cerberus A warm rain can be nice.

10:01 PM
@Mitch Well, it's often listed among programming languages. Like the Rosetta Stone thingy.
@Mitch No!

@Cerberus I'd shot for 25 cause a breeze might bring things a little down.

@Mitch I mean, it's nice if you are close to home and have nothing to do.

@Cerberus Oh. Well. There's no talking to you then.

@Mitch But it's sunny!
You can sit in the sun if you like.

@Cerberus ?? What Rosetta Stone thingy? You mean like -the- Rosetta Stone.

10:02 PM
Not the.

A?

The stone contains only Hieratic, Demotic, and Greek.

some?
@Cerberus I know this is perverse, but I like it to be sunny, and then I sit in the shade because, you know, it's so sunny.
4

Eww perv!

@Mitch star for that imo

10:07 PM
@Mr.ShinyandNew安宇 Really? For funsies?

@Cerberus OK...explain yourself sir! Really. Rosetta Stone and programming languages?

Turns out "stone" isn't in the name. I thought you knew it.

Ohhhhh....
Now I know about it.

Great!

You should use comments sparingly

10:16 PM
@Cerberus sleepy?

Not exactly. You?
I'm not going to sing a lullaby for you, I'm sorry.

@Cerberus not yet, wish I was

@SOChatBot You should comment sparingly in general.
@Cerberus That was a terrible lullaby.
"I'm sorry"? No, I'm sorry that we had to hear that.

@Mitch Come here, let me cut off your eyes to mitigate the problem.
@JohanLarsson Hmmm...

cut eyes?
stab the ears?

10:28 PM
@MattЭллен I thought he got married last summer. Engagement party or something? Anyway, good luck. Weddings are great for getting laid.

Bring a book, be prepared!

knock knock Who's there? "Jehova's witnesses"

@SOChatBot Whoa, what command made it do that?

@JohanLarsson Oh, yes, my apologies. I accidentally cut off the wrong organs.
Next time I'll do better.

11:16 PM
@Cerberus yeah that's cruel. Then all I'd have is my ears to be tormented. I'd rather my ears be poked out l, then I wouldn't be terrorized by the sound of your lullabies.
@JohanLarsson Is that for before during or after? The wedding or the laying? These are details of etiquette best not left to chance!

@Mitch That's the spirit. Now if you will just step over there...

11:49 PM
@Cerberus You mean on this small x?
What do you mean, 'don't look up'?
It just looks like there's a piano up there hanging by a rope... follow rope along ceiling, down, wall, around another pulley, to.... Hey @Cerberus what are you doing with that rope in your hands?
