Haven't you heard of Donald Trump? @Shafizadeh

America's President ?

She is online on skype.
She is online at skype.
She is online in skype.
Which one is correct?
I prefer the first one because it sounds correct
but my ears are terrible at guessing

At is a location, Skype HQ (wherever that is).
On is the platform; in is the application.
I'd probably use on.

I'm a terrible preposition user myself, but I'd use ''on''.

Since we know "Skype" is "online", I'd say She's on Skype.
Unless there's an off line version :-)
@YashasSamaga

yea saw it

Well, that makes the most sense

You really shouldn't be ashamed of asking questions. The job of a good student is to be stupid long enough to learn not to be stupid.

Hey guys.
Quick question. Is savable a word?

Huh. What do you know. Thank you. Bookmarked this resource for future references.

@YashasSamaga She is on Skype right now ( = she is using Skype at this moment).
She is on Skype (= she has an account on Skype)
'She is online on Skype' is grammatically right but sounds funny because of the repetition of the sound 'on'.

Not all research into regional English varieties [require/requires] such time.
I have a hard time identifying if the subject is singular or plural
"all" hints that it is talking about more than one thing
"requires" sounds more appropriate for my ears

3:26 PM
Research is singular.

@tchrist is _research_ uncountable?
"Not all cats", "not all children", "not all computers", "not all professions", but "not all milk", "not all income".

@ANeves Usually, yes, research is an uncountable noun that's invariably singular. As with other mass nouns, rare exceptions of plural use can be demonstrated under highly restricted conditions.

3:56 PM
Hmm hmm, like "monies", "peoples", etc.
We get that in other languages as well.
I see. Thanks, @tchrist .

What is the verb for when you shake a dusty cloth really hard to remove the dust? Or a dirty shirt (with dry dirt) so it becomes clean? Or clapping your hands after writing on a blackboard with chalk?
Ie, what is the verb for removing dirt or dust from something by forceful, jerky movements or by hitting?

5:17 PM
hm
Shaking out the dust?
