Hi.

Hi @Jasper.

user174558
@KitZ.Fox Are you doing your writing now?

I should be, but I am allowing myself to be distracted.

user174558
Thank goodness I am not doing nanowrimo.

user174558
December is coming soon, the most important month of the year.

1:54 AM
Is it? Because it is the last one?

user174558
Because I need to prepare myself to start studying on New Year's Day.

user174558
So I must be extra careful how my mind changes.

user174558
@cer Woof!

user174558
I just watched Crimson Peak.

user174558
It's Sun here and my mum is not working.

user174558
1:59 AM
This orange colour is so beautiful.

Is Crimson Peak that one with that guy I like?

user174558
Hmm, I don't know who you like. But there was a sex scene where you see his buttocks.

raises eyebrows
Tom Hiddleston.

user174558
Thank goodness for all these sites where I can watch movies for free.

Also, it's Guillermo Del Toro who I like his movies.

user174558

My favourite actress is Laura Ramsey. I want to marry someone as pretty as her.

user174558
Maria is now writing songs for a living. I visited her page and heard some samples. She has a really nice voice.

user174558
I am happy that they got married and are living happily ever after.

That's interesting.

user174558
I am hoping somewhere in this world, there is another Maria waiting for me.

user174558
It seems that Wikipedia also refreshes its front page at UTC 0000.

user174558
2:16 AM
I hate it that youtube front page is geographically determined. I keep seeing these stupid videos when I visit the site.

I'm off to bed. Good night, @Jasper.

user174558
@KitZ.Fox Good night!

user174558
I am also off to bed.

5:51 AM
@Cerberus I found your secret deep within the lair of the Jade monkey dragon.
Do most people here study English or work as authors and such?

5 hours later…
10:45 AM
@MattE.Эллен Three brand new posts.

user174558
11:26 AM
@I'mmostlyjustanidiot No, most are programmers. Some are lunatics, like me.

11:50 AM
@JasperLoy Oh, okay.

user174558
@I'mmostlyjustanidiot OK, ehem.

@JasperLoy Oh, OK.

user174558
@I'mmostlyjustanidiot What time is it there?

12:06 PM
1am Monday here

@Cerberus Just curious whether you already knew the overarching reason why modern Western Romance languages so often have “synchronic irregulars” in their verbs’ present indicative inflexions, especially in the first person singular? For example FR: je viens; CA: vinc; ES, IT: vengo; PT: venho.

2:50 PM
Is it just me, or does this seem unfortunately worded?

A: 2500 BCE, to be with nouns

RickyTwenty-five hundred bee-see (as in Before Christ). BCE (before common era) was invented by some dude who hated Jesus. Unless you are mimicking dialogue, it is always wiser to avoid contractions in writing as much as possible.

3:00 PM
@tchrist The title? Yeah, I don't know what that means.
Ok I'll bite, what's the reason for synchronic irregulars?

@Mitch The -io and -eo first person singular forms in Latin. The first vowel became a semi-vocalic /j/ which triggered instability in the previous sound or sounds, which gave rise to palatalization of the previous consonant and sometimes to raising the earlier vowel, sometimes to a diphthong.
That’s also why you so often have those irregulars only in the first person singular, since the other persons didn’t have /j/-in-diphthong there.

Hi, I'd like to ask is it correct to say "bring some experience to some activity", as in "bring new experience to everyday shopping" (artificial example). Or there is more precise expression? I though about "introduce ... to ..." and "add ... to ...".
Also, a grammar checker I use says, that "bring ... to ..." is not correct, while "bring ... into ..." is OK for it.
Will ask on the forum.

@KitZ.Fox I just watched Wrong Turn.

@JasperLoy Ohai. I am writing now.

user174558
OK. I will watch Wrong Turn 2,3,4,5,6, LOL.

user116848
Hi all.

@Arrowfar Hi.

user116848
Howdy @KitZ.Fox. How are you?

11:23 PM
I am writing. Almost done the fourth novel. I've got about 5K words left. Two days.

user116848
@JasperLoy I have watched Wrong Turn too. I don't remember which part.

And yourself?

user116848
@KitZ.Fox Nice!

user116848
@KitZ.Fox I'm okay. Just a bit stressed out. I have exams in Dec and my preparation is kinda bad :)

Hey, only two more days! Then your stress can be over with.

user116848
11:25 PM
Heh. On 9th and 11th of Dec. Let's see :)

@tchrist thanks
I'll ask for a black listing tomorrow

user116848
Hello @MattE.Эллен.

hi
I'm just catching up on @Kit's writing :D

Oh but it's awful.
"Nearly complete" is the best praise for it.
Although I think I would rate the story as the best yet, despite how it doesn't have one.

it's not! It doesn't feel like it'll be over in 5k words...

11:38 PM
Um. Yeah. I noticed that too.

I mean: it's not awful

My ego heard what you meant.

good :D
only half my brain is working, apparently
I guess you'll have to keep writing 1000 words per day until it's done

Right.
coughs

11:40 PM
I haven't finished editing last year's yet, and I was really committed to that.
Also, I have a topic for next year now.

It's called "And Then There Was Cake."
See The Overlook Hotel.
Funny thing is, I think I could actually do it.
Anyway, this isn't the writing I'm meant to be writing.
bbl

OK :D Get writing. CU

11:59 PM
@MattE.Эллен Better snag the synonym while you're at it.
