^somewhat interesting

Somewhat bullshit. Anyone can read that.
The "Cambridge research" they mention is well known to be meh.
Make it a somewhat less familiar topic and/or with longer words, and it becomes a whole lot harder. But these are mainly short words, and it is an easy text.

The Marathon des Sables (MdS, Marathon of the Sands, or Sahara Marathon) is a six-day, 251 km (156 mi) ultramarathon, which is the equivalent of six regular marathons. The longest single stage (2009) is 91 km (57 mi) long. This multiday race is held every year in southern Morocco, in the Sahara desert. It is considered the toughest foot race on Earth. The first event of the Marathon started in 1986. == Notable participants == In the 29th edition (2014) Danny Kendall became the fastest ever Briton to take part in the Marathon des Sables, placing in 5th position. Moroccan brothers Lahcen and Mohamad...

@Cerberus still nice & robust parsing going on since you can read it at the same speed as the correct text.

@JohanLarsson Yeah almost.

The neverending story: like flies to a dog mess does ELU attract peevers:
You are wrong about your whole een business. And about “just as they appear”. And about “normal American”. And about the g ever being heard even barely. And about “archaic”. And probably more, but you just exceeded the too-many-errors-in-post threshold of five blatant errors. This is not an answer, but a peeve.tchrist 4 mins ago

You object to the order that is actually correct according to the very rule you stated. And you do it twice, so it can't be a mere typo. — RegDwigнt ♦ 50 secs ago
Absolutely nobody on that page has noticed that. Including you, @tchrist.

@RegDwigнt That one was mushy.
I did indeed notice that it was ok to put the not in front of the to.

@tchrist That is a strange answer indeed.

But it is just fine to put it otherwhere, too.

I wonder what he means by this een.

10:39 PM
@tchrist Yes, both are correct. But it becomes sort of beyond the point when the OP can't so much as read the very rule he has written.

@Cerberus He rather doubtlessly means the standard pronunciation. He just doesn’t know how to represent that.

@RegDwigнt Very strange as well.

And worse, he doesn’t know that he doesn’t know.

@tchrist That's really weird, then.

@tchrist That's a given. Where's that John Cleese video.

10:40 PM
@Cerberus It’s a crank answer.
So flooded are we with spammers and trolls, we forget the third great internet pest, the crank.

ENOPERM

What the hell?

It’s like Russian has a word for everything!
That means we are all Russian speakers!

Yes. And it's "vsyo".

And the Czar will have his due.

@tchrist even better, it has a city for everything.

Next step: Putin invades cosmetology schools.

Funny name, Eno.
Perm is of course well known.

10:44 PM
Those aren’t mountains, they’re just a big heap.

@Cerberus it's an anagram for Neo. Which is an anagram for One. Which is Jesus.

macbook# perl -le 'print ++($x = "Perl")'
Perm

@tchrist I think he already spends a good deal of time in cosmetology schools. Basically all the time in-between his naked rides through Sibir.
When no one is gay, someone has to be.

How would anyone know he’s naked? Surely as with Godiva the entire hamlet is too virtuous to nad-scope him.

I'm speculating here, but perhaps his gay entourage comprises a photographer or two.

There are gay photographers?

There are gay everythings.
All things come in gay.

takes notes

Or gray.

Or both.

10:47 PM
Or both.

I thought they all went out gay, not came in that way.

For example, the HTC right there is gay and gray.

If you happen to have a surplus specimen of that phone, by the way, you may send it to me.
It's not gay!!

@RegDwigнt Says grey, Gandalf.

It's just...different.

10:48 PM
@Cerberus it will immediately become on arrival.
That's what you want to have it for.

Yay!
Then have one arrive at your doorstep.

I don’t think Cerb is allowed to import guns or bare arms of any sort.
Just an ankle or three.

Is anyone?

@Cerberus I'd throw it into your general direction, but there's a hill in the way (don't ask, too hard to explain what that is) and also I don't have one.

Then you must get One.

10:50 PM
Why would I get one to throw it into a hill?
I am not that decadent.
I am much more decadent.

He’d just confused Alps with Ælfe anyway, having forgotten the ancient morphology.

I will have someone fetch it, if I must.

@RegDwigнt Sybarites-ᴙ-Us.
Note the inbuilt Rus.
Tells you everything you need to know.

Did you test for nags and figgers yet? — tchrist 1 min ago
After all, you never know what all the crooks and nannies may hide.

Who the fuck is Zalgo.

That asinine post about parsing self-contained html tags.

Yes, I'm reading the post linked from your answer.
But I have to repeat the question.
Who the fuck is Zalgo.
Why is it not John, say.

Not only do I have no fucking clue, I have none other either.

I would even understand if it was called Bobince.

11:12 PM
Yeah.

But no, it's Zalgo.
Welcome to Zalgo.com.
The only limit is you.

I would probe the boundaries of the magic words, but that just makes more work for my friends, and that is just plain mean.
So I will coax others into doing it for me. :)
And somewhere other than here.
Of course, if they do it on MSE, only CMs get to play, which is hardly the optimal sort of attention.
Someone once said how if they know how you are without having to peak at your real name, this is either very good or very, very bad.
I tried a few SEDE queries though. Takes a bit too long for fun on SO.
And we don’t have much use-case potty-mouth here.

You must be literally insane to search comments on SO.

Try youtube.

You would get insane after searching them, at the latest, but it's really a prerequisite.
@tchrist I'm seeing more sane comments on YouTube these days.
Perhaps I just watch the wrong videos.

11:17 PM
I wonder how that happened.

They do sort them by stuff now instead of by shit.

I thought anywhere that permitted anon driveby barfitti was automatically shit.

So these days my main quabble with YouTube comments is that they are not YouTube comments, but Google+ comments.

Back in the day, it would be "your fag!!!" — "no U!!!". It wasn't spectacular conversation, but it was conversation. These days it's just "no U!!!! via +Thomas Giles".

Perhaps all the nagging finally got to them.
@RegDwigнt Well, having users named @Snigger and @faggaj doesn’t help, given lame-o LIKE wildcarding without real regexen.

11:38 PM
True, but then again, no one creates a handle like Niggardly for any other reason than yanking chains.
And no parent calls his child Faggot without realizing what that entails.
Well okay, I'm being a little bit too kind to the human race there.
Ninja downvoter strikes again. My job here is done!
So goodnight.
