@Vogel612 lol

@CodeX That worked, thanks a bunch!

@Phrancis It should work fine, i heard you were into PHP now..
@Phrancis Np, anytime, thanks

I kind of gave up temporarily on PHP, as I don't have any immediate need for it

Did you have any problems?

Been trying my hand at a little VBA, since I use the Office Suite a lot

5:02 PM
shudders

And then just basic web design, HTML/CSS for a project I'm part of

hey @xDaevax lol
HTML/CSS is great fun, CSS3 is pretty darn good also

I recently wrote VBA for outlook to query our build server's REST API and build an e-mail outlining which devs have changes in the builds going out.
I almost cried

@CodeX Not really problems so-to-speak with PHP (other than being PHP itself), just don't have a need for it right now as I'm doing client-side stuff

5:05 PM
As far as learning a language goes, PHP is a great starter

@CodeX In case you are interested: codereview.stackexchange.com/questions/69686/…

@Phrancis nah, not really..

Gotcha

I just started working on a JS validation library using knockout JS. My first stab at an actual Github repo and using node and such for building (Grunt in this case).

@Phrancis Haha! Internet Sarcasm just doesn't work eh..

5:06 PM
@CodeX It's opposite day!
.. right?

@JeroenVannevel Hello and Haha! It has to be..

lol
I have to highlight that the Bootstrap suite is awesome and such a time saver!

@Phrancis may I take that as sarcasm, too then?

@Phrancis I've never used it, it has its own set of classes? Is there a list or something?

that said, how can I fix this nasty habit of Word shooting my TOC Level definitions?

5:10 PM
I must admit i prefer laces..
@Vogel612 build a template

T.T
I don't really have the time for that I fear..
I am not a proficient Word user..
and I should amend and correct the docs, too..

@Vogel612 - the ToC should be a simple field.

@rolfl yeah that's what I thought, too..

Insert->ToC , and then it will simply include any content that has the correct style attached.

“Always code as if the guy who ends up maintaining your code will be a violent psychopath who knows where you live.”
- Martin Golding

5:13 PM
@rolfl it glosses over "Title"-formatted stuff though..

Yeah i actually met a violent psychopath while coding on the internet..

And that's what I want as level 1.

Q: Creating vectors from integer inputs and then duplicating the elements in matlab

Vimal Karsanyou're going to hate me for asking such a simple question but I don't understand why this code won't work! test = input('Please enter an integer:') vec = []' B = int2str(test) for i = 1:length(test) vec = [vec;B(i)] end C = kron(vec,ones(100,1)) So basically what it's supposed to do is...

@Vogel612 send the file to me?

@CodeX no can do..

5:14 PM
@Vogel612 No I actually mean it!

internal stuff and the whole carp..
@Phrancis then I'll let that stand.

@Vogel612 The titles formatting is removed if its in the TOC container i think

that's beside the point

I hate the default implementation of the TOC

problem is: I define the ToC to take the inbuilt formatting style "Title" as level 1.

5:15 PM
@Phrancis learn swift, obv

I usually don't bother and make my own, create bookmarks, then hyperlink to the bookmarks

@CodeX It is quite cool. See: getbootstrap.com

It's a bit more manual, but I spend less time fighting, more time doing

then I want to change a minuscle thing. But upon applying the changes, suddenly it jumps back to having "Heading 1" inbuilt style as level 1.
but I want that as level 2...

@Phrancis Its made by twitter?

5:16 PM
it just looks crappy if your TOC has this kind of numbering:

Apparently...?

@Phrancis hmm ok
@Phrancis What is the question?

I haven't seen a huge need for bootstrap personally

1. Subsection 1.1
2. Subsection 1.2
1. Subsection 2.1
2. Subsection 2.2

@Phrancis What features in particular are useful to you?

5:18 PM
@CodeX @xDaevax The example templates helped me get started quickly laying out a template and now I'm ready to add content, so it saved me a bunch of

@Vogel612 Can you write the TOC manually without using WORD's TOC system?
@Phrancis and its responsive so thats a bonus

@CodeX The doc is still subject to change... and I don't really want to type all that carp down..
but that will probably be the way to go anyways..
after all the guys who want the doc want it printed.

I see, you're using it more for the styling and templating, less for the JS

In the table of contents option, untick the last box?

@Vogel612 Ok vogel give me an example of what you want, a snippet and ill see if i can do it?

@Vogel612 You don't want to include Title stuff, you should include Heading-1, Heading-2, etc.

@rolfl quite the opposite..

Oh, Well, the ToC is 'keyed' to "Heading-*" styles, as far as I know.

The problem is word thinks I am just another misguided user..
naah it isn't ..
you can configure what the TOC should pick up
the problem is, the TOC has a quite leaky memory. and doesn't remember what I told him 20 seconds ago
so he jumps back to default, after all I am just another dumb user /rant

5:24 PM

@Vogel612 Anyway to give me a snippet of styles needed / layout?

Keyed to Heading 1 and Heading 2 style.
(by default)

this leads to nowhere..
I'll just ignore the TOC for now and do it after the rest is finished...
and I will just manually Hack it into this, and nothing will stop me

I'm going to ask the next person at work that I code review if this is just "herpa-derpa coding"... We'll see how that goes. :)

@Jamal The lambda syntax won't really produce what I would call "short" code.

Hm. Now I find out that Loki has a Twitter account.

It would almost be better to use the functors from <functional>.

My comment on there just stated that the link was about C# syntax. I didn't even see the code before that.
Ah, std::plus.

Assuming C++14, std::plus<>() would have worked instead of std::plus<int>().
Honestly, they should have made std::plus a non-template class with a templated operator() right from the start.

And I really need to brush up on C++11 and C++14. I'm still in C Land and Java Land with these classes this semester. The nice thing is that I'm allowed to use C++ for my final project.

9:36 PM
The not-so-fun thing is that you will need to wait for the next generation of compilers for a proper C++14 support.

@Morwenn And 10 more years to get it supported on Windows?

The library part was straightforward to implement, but the interesting features (variable templates, relaxed constexpr rules and polymorphic lambdas) will have to wait a little bit more.
@skiwi MSVC is probably more up-to-date than it has ever been.
MinGW supports GCC 4.9.
And Clang is now creating installers for Windows.
Well, it should be supported on Windows by next year.
Oh, and there is an almost-pro free version of MSVC now.

That's quite fast then :)
