@ManishEarth Theoretical cosmology is a very interesting field and some major things are happening in it lately. But tell me more about this inhomogeneous snapshot. Do you mean time-dependent perturbations around some homogeneous background or order 1 fluctuations? Curvature and Dark energy happen to be my area of study btw.

Q: Why is Stack Overflow so negative of late?

GeotargetI've been using SO for a few years, and initially most questions you asked got a positive reception: happy comments and answers, people that tried to help you out regardless of the way you worded it. Of late the tendency is to simply close or put on hold most questions, or downvote them, or make ...

Some of the same issues brought up there could apply to us too

@DavidZ: I've stopped participating on SO because of bad behaviour from SO users
Any time I answered a question that involved Fortran + C, my answers (despite being right) were immediately downvoted by the C users for whatever dumb reason
I got sick of it and the mentality of "close & DV everything"

So for anyone who might know, what's up with Community♦? It poked 132 questions in the meta 10 hours ago. Why did it wipe the active board? Malfunction?

@Jim Check the edit links it made (eg, meta.physics.stackexchange.com/posts/4848/revisions)
It looks to me that it changed all the meta.SO links to be the appropriate meta link

Jim
@KyleKanos Ah, I see. Well, it may be a tad annoying but at least it's a good, rational reason

@Jim Yeah, I tend to go to the /questions url in lieu of the main page

Q: Possible bad tag synonym

JimSo a week or so ago, I made the frw-universe tag; made a tag-wiki for it too. Recently, a certain someone (not relevant who) made it a synonym of cosmology. For the record, it is currently the only synonym of cosmology. I think this was not valid. I'd like to state my disagreement with this actio...
