Q: Manually adding a Userscript to Google Chrome

YMMDInstead of "installing" User-Scripts I found many tutorials on the web to add it manually. All of them told me to do the same steps: Make the directory C:\Users\Blabla\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\User Scripts Place a .js file there, which contains the User-Script Start Chrome ...

install that as a userscript via tampermonkey
like everyone does :p

10:10 PM
@Hakase so how do you insert css in? or am i going to have to use jquery or something to overide the styles

imma look up one of my stackapps styles and post it here

Q: Minimize chat input area − remove links and site logo, no auto width

user1306322Chat input area background takes up all the horizontal space it can get. It's time to stop this greedy nonsense! This script removes the width:auto rule and hides the site's logo and links at the right side of the input area: // ==UserScript== // @name Minimize chat input area − remove li...

basically edit the text to be relevant to your goal and paste it

@Hakase yeh that did it. i just added it to the unthumber script

or that works

@Hakase so how are you anyway

10:27 PM
okay so far
why the sudden interest?
I've been organizing my onenote entries the past couple of days
also I think I maybe found a way to get out into the rest of the world outside imgur more
the internet part of the world, but still this is improvement
basically I renamed the imgur bookmark to contain the names of things that might seem more interesting or fun than imgur, so that when before I click it out of habit, I read that and think maybe not this time, maybe one of those instead
it's pretty hard to come up with stuff more interesting than a site that collects interesting images, so the list is short for now
stackapps has 2066 posts, there's gotta be interesting things on it, probably related or essentially the same things too
nobody seems to be interested in governing that site tho
have a look at the best posts, maybe you'll find something useful

@Hakase have i not asked how people are before? you just happen to be the only non-bot here
@Hakase the very first one is something i could have used a long time ago

ya the chat is empty these days

@Hakase for now atleast. given timezones i assume everyone is asleep during my mornings

it's 1:37 here but I'm usually up until 5 these days

@Hakase PM? or AM?

10:38 PM
05:00

@Hakase so you stay up all night and sleep during the day?

basically yes
but it's more like I sleep now and then until about 23:00 where I become less sleepy and do some computery stuff
the golden time when everybody's sleeping and it's quiet

@Hakase or you could just admit your a vampire

russian professor vampire developer, sounds like most of the IT people in here
my blood is tea

@Hakase i got this weird image in my head of a stereotypical British man as a vampire cornering a woman and going "do you have a spot of tea that i may steal from you"
then you replace the British accent a Russian one and it gets weirder

10:48 PM
a well made cup or a glass of high-quality, fine tasting tea is a pretty big deal
taste, like other senses, evokes various emotions, which is an easy way to obtain harmony, yada-yada, etc
but seriously it is about feeling well for me as much as not having to cook up something to eat in the next two or three more cups of tea
when people hear how much tea I drink and why, they go "ah, so this is why you eat so many sweets and aren't fat"
hell ya

@Hakase weird, i never heard of tea balancing sweet intake

you also gotta eat about 1kg of meat and sides in 1 to 2 proportion daily then
hmm I just learned that a 100g bar of dark chocolate is worth about 550 calories while 100g of vodka is about 230 calories
in terms of "how much it makes you fat" those are entirely different substances but it was interesting
a long time ago I decided I should listen to more music and instead I have been listening to all my old tracks to death and making apps that would eventually make it easier to rate, categorize and track the new music which I'm not too much closer to listening even now
now I'm just thinking I should go back in time and find all the old tracks that I once listened to but forgot

11:05 PM

@Hakase maybe just go back in time and tell yourself not to forget them. less likely to cause a paradox
@ton.yeung ToS? would i be right to assume that's a Final Fantasy XIV Expansion?

ya I'll be thinking about those songs all the time and it would make things a lot weirder than if I just popped in and explained that it's nothing serious, and I just wanted to remember some of the old songs but got really lazy and went back in time for a bit to get them from my old self
my old self would probably ask the current me how I travelled back in time and then back into the future, but I wouldn't know how to answer that
maybe I could convince my old self I was having a very vivid imaginary time travel fantasy centered around trivial stuff like music

11:22 PM
@Hakase just ask your past self "who wrote Beethoven's Fifth?"

I know I wouldn't understand
