japanese.stackexchange.com/questions/41476 Huh. I was completely lost in this question because the OP had transcribed it as 〜ちゃった (extra っ)
It all made sense once the っ was removed and it became 〜ちゃたまんない
I was thinking "it should be 「まらない」 or 「まるない」 but there's no such word in the dictionary"

@oals Yeah. What's that extra っ doing there, anyway? That /t/ doesn't seem like it would normally receive emphatic gemination.

Wait, it's gone!

I guess it was a typo, then? :-)

@SingleFighter Neither A nor B make sense. The meaning your after is: he was able to convince her of her/the mistake.

More minimal pairs for each vowel: 単位【たんい】 vs. 谷【たに】// 品位【ひんい】 vs. 日【ひ】に // 噴煙【ふんえん】 vs. 不燃【ふねん】 // 犬【いぬ】 vs. 陰雨【いんう】 // 指南【しなん】 vs. 新案【しんあん】 // 無難【ぶなん】 vs. 文案【ぶんあん】 // カノン【canon】 vs. 漢音【かんおん】 — blutorange Mar 24 '15 at 21:58
I think the furigana script is doing something funky for that comment
Every second pair is in a smaller font for me.
I think it's the double slashes?
Oh, I see
<span style="" class="IPA">/
That's how the small ones are marked.
Correct ones get:
<span style="" xml:lang="ja" class="ja-text" lang="ja">
Does the furigana script try to do IPA too, or is that something else that's responsible?

Yes, the furigana script does that with the double slashes.

You can prevent it by putting a zero-width space between the pairs of slashes.

Sorry 'bout that.

Oh, I see, that's an old comment.
