「いかん、知らん、乗らん・・・」は、「いかない、知らない、乗らない・・・」の短縮ではなく、「いかぬ、知らぬ、乗らぬ」の短縮(最後のuが落ちた？)って言うべきなん‌でしょうかね・・・

そうすると、「いかん、知らん、乗らん・・」は「いかない、知らない、乗らない・・・」の、何だと表現すべきなんでしょう

さっき調べた限りでは「ず」の活用である「ぬ」が変化して「ん」になり、一方で「ず」と同様に否定の意味を持った「ない」が生まれ、ということのようなので…

「乗らん」は「乗らぬ」から来ているものの、現代では「乗らない」の（より口語的な）**言い換え**になっている、という感じで私は納得しました。短縮形ではなく。

「乗らぬ」なんて言うことは稀ですし、「乗らず」に至っては「乗らずに○○する」といった用法の方が印象的なので、「乗らぬ」「乗らず」の言い換えや短縮形とするには微妙‌かなと。
