It's interesting that you say するにはしたけど but not するはしたけど, but then you can say both するにはするけど and するはするけど.
For some reason 〜は〜けど doesn't allow past tense in the second hole.

@DariusJahandarie. I hate English. 「

Born in Australian, Australian parents. Grew up in Japan. You could say I am native English speaker, but I only briefly formally studied English at an English school. Turning 40 this year and have been in Japan for 30 years now.

@snailplane へへ :D
この質問の例文の訳なんですけど japanese.stackexchange.com/q/6962/9831

Anonymous
@chocolate I'm sure Tim would agree it's not grammatical, so I suspect he made that error while editing the sentence or something like that.

@KyloRen I don't really think that's the case...

Tim

@chocolate Yeah :-( I miss Tim's presence here on the site.

@snailplane. Sorry I am not following what you mean?

4:28 AM
@snailplane, ahh I think I see now. I explained it Japanese as I mixed everything up. Too early in the moring for using the brain at that point in the day.

> 「猫の山田さんの鼻」would only make sense if the cat's name were 山田さん.

5:39 AM
Hmm, don't like new faces around here. Looks like I am ruffling a few feathers?

5:57 AM
@KyloRen what makes you think that?

@Flaw, down votes on answers that clearly give the answer plus more information. That or people who don't understand something down vote? Either way 5 answer and 2 have already different ones already received down votes.

well don't let that affect you too much
there will be people that will disagree with an answer, and we cannot remove anyone's freedom to downvote.

@Flaw, not to mention questions getting more up votes than answer. I don't think it is a case disagreeing, if the answer is right it right. The fact is that this is obviously a small tight-knit community and I have seen on other stack forums up voting just b/c some people have high rep. I am not concerned, b/c I think someones post needs clarification I will tell them, hell it is language and there are certainly quite a few different out comes for sure.

8:49 AM
I think answers get less upvotes than questions since it's easier to tell if a question is good than if an answer is correct.
and being cautious, answers tend to get less upvotes so that we don't say something is correct when it's not

9:07 AM
@OK, I can understand that. I could see that a difficult answer could be hard to follow hence the confusion.

9:54 AM
> Hard to choose which is best.
> It is hard to choose which the best one.

@ogicu8abruok Congrats

thanks!
Did anybody see this edit? Should something be done about it? japanese.stackexchange.com/questions/34412/…

@ogicu8abruok congratulations!

hm
@ogicu8abruok congrats!

In the latest Naruto, 「サスケが感知できねんだ。」 Why is が used instead of を in the case? Will it be wrong if を is used?

3:13 PM
IMO you don't really need to pay much attention to upvotes\downvotes. To me actual words mean a lot more, whereas with a silent vote I have no idea what is the reasoning behind it so I don't know how to react to it.
