if you have copied the binary then fmtutil-sys --all will remake the formats in texlive but note that luatex 0.8x is radically completely incompatible with all previous versions of luatex the current format macro files for latex and plain tex as found in texlive will not work nor will graphics hyperref etc. there are development versions of most of these things but you need to be prepared for a lot of manual adjustments at the present time. Hopefully it will all go smoothly for texlive 2016, but there is a reason luatex 0.8x is not in default distributions yet. — David Carlisle7 hours ago

@DavidCarlisle In the same general area, I've fixed that missing " in unicode-data but am minded to drop the split entirely and to add a new load-unicode-math-class.tex file (to do the bit I've now removed): thoughts?
@JosephWright @barbarabeeton so luatex 0.87 couldn't load amsmath at all, 0.88 has a change so amsmath loads but doesn't work, which is improvement of a sort, I suppose.
@barbarabeeton whatever the final outcome of maintenance plans for amsmath this means that basically there will need to be an update to amsmath before texlive 2016 tests start next month, while in theory it would be possible if inconvenient to have a package that patches amsmath math people are not going to expect to have to load such a thing to make this works it gives an error in luatex .88:

@JosephWright re my mail to luatex list, if it's going to change I think I'll just make the tests look for U in the meaning string (that change is really needed even for xetex, for characters that have been re-defined using the U forms) otherwise it's more of a mess either you need to look ahead to see if there are three " or do a test on the luatex version and have conditional code...
@DavidCarlisle Other diffs are I think either mathchar-related or places that they'd brought LuaTeX more in to line with pdfTeX logging (so a good thing)

@PauloCereda I appreciate that of course, but I don't understand why $PATH is important. I just had to switch Map lucida.map (as recommended in the description by TUG) to MixedMap=lucida.map. After that it worked. Perhaps because I have all both font types?

@KeksDose If there is an easy solution for pdflatex depends a lot of what the user mean by "FontPro clearly installed all condensed variants" and you regarding "the condensed fonts are mapped there" If only the declarations in the fd-files are missing it wouldn't be a problem.
@KeksDose Here an example how you can add a c-series to an existing setup. The code can naturally go into the fd-file. But it only works if all the other needed files (tfm, pfb, vf etc) exists.

@KeksDose Well "extra-u" doesn't sound T1-encoded so probably one will have to check the virtual fonts. But you can at least try out what happens if you replace ec-lmtt10 with MyriadPro-Cond-extra-u--base in my example. (Check umlauts etc).

@KeksDose no idea what it is supposed to be but you declared condensed in family MyriadPro-TLF but it is telling you there is no condensed in family MyriadPro-OsF which is different

@JosephWright -- in preparation for "answer the unanswered", i've been reviewing questions in categories i know something about. to my distress, many (too many) questions that don't belong there are tagged [align]. so i'm changing "improper" tags to [horizontal alignment] or [vertical alignment] as appropriate. there are a lot of them, and i'll try to limit how many i do at once, but it'll take a long time.
