@Johannes_B it's getting better, thanks.

For your Saturday morning coffee: "Ten Simple Rules for Finishing Your PhD". Rule 5: "Being familiar with software for both writing and making figures will facilitate the creation of your thesis." Covers LaTeX; fails to mention TeX.SE. ;)

yo'
@Davïd pssssst, @Paulo is busy. Also, when you write your thesis, you don't know what Saturday is...

@yo' Ha! Also true years after your own thesis is finished, and others' theses fill up that space. (Got two in front of me as I type....)
(But clearly procrastinating at the moment!)

yo'
@Davïd I've got a medical excuse for procrastinating :)

10:16 AM
@yo' Sorry to hear it! Gives a certain virtue, or at least necessity, to your procrastination. Sadly, mine isn't even "structured" (as per link above) -- more like serendipity, at best.

10:56 AM
8GB more to my iMac. :)

@PauloCereda Memory or disk space?

@ChristianHupfer Memory. :)

@PauloCereda And now you have in total .. 8 GB? ;-)

@ChristianHupfer Sono italiano della Foresta Nera. :)

@PauloCereda Sei Pinocchio :-P

11:12 AM
@ChristianHupfer Non hablo su idioma. :)

@ChristianHupfer By the way, have you seen that one? tex.stackexchange.com/questions/307046/…

@Johannes_B No, not yet. I'll take a look
@Johannes_B Ah MasterDoctorialQuirk ;-) Didn't know that the name is magyar, thought it would be hungarian, like in Hungarian Phrasebook ;-)

12:55 PM
@ChristianHupfer :-)

@PauloCereda Back from my tour: Modena and Mantova.
^^^^ Mantova, one of the most beautiful towns in Italy.

ooh, that looks awesome

5:45 PM
@phell It's a wonderful landscape indeed. This is how Mantova appears when reaching the town from the East: there's a lake and beyond it the medieval castle that became the Ducal Palace. The dukes of Mantova were very rich and protected several great artists, notably the painter Mantegna and the musician Monteverdi. Their collection of paintings is scattered in museums around the world; if you see a painting by Mantegna, it's most probably coming from that collection.

@egreg I will put Mantova on the list for good places to visit. :)

2 hours later…
8:02 PM
@phell You can see here the story how the art collection was later sold: the last duke was deposed and went to Venice carrying many items with him. But frescoes are more difficult to take away, so the decorations of the Ducal Palace (by Mantegna) and of “Palazzo Te” (by Giulio Romano) remained in place.

8:35 PM
I have a new palindrom:

@Kurt And you're near to becoming a trusted user! Let's remember @PauloCereda to send you his credit card number.

8:58 PM
My ship is leaving soon and I am still ashore :-)

@StefanKottwitz Can you swim?

@egreg I was generously allowed to leave for some days. So I stay in Lisboa for a night, fly home to my family, and will join the ship again for some days late next week.
It's not a cruise ship this time though.
More like a mega yacht. It's The World. I feel so poor now. :-)

@egreg Yes, if I found some questions answerable for me. Last time I had bad luck. Perhaps I can get the palindrom 19991. We will see ...

The tech people and engineers were slightly impressed by seeing cisco network thingies. But when they saw using TeX for macro based config generation and programming network drawings, their jaws dropped.

@StefanKottwitz LOL

9:29 PM
@CarLaTeX why are the numbers in your table % numbers? You have there 150 % then, that is a little bit unusual ...

yo'
9:44 PM
@Kurt I'm not sure who's CarLaTeX, but he's not in the room so you can't ping him :)

@yo' He was online when I asked :-) But no problem ...

yo'
@Kurt ah ok, it's strange then that he was not callable 15 minutes later...

@yo' Well, perhaps he logged out while I saw his icon. If he is interested he will answer, I think ...

2 hours later…
11:44 PM
I made an abomination
