@Johannes_B I just sent an upload to CTAN which respects \selectlanguage. Setting an explizit language option with \chemsetup will fix the chosen language if it is unwanted

For some reason, when I add [!htbp] my table is not on fixed place. For some tables this works, but for some it doesn't. How to fix problem?

I notice both \L and \l are defined by default, unless I'm making some mistake, but they are both some version of the letter L. Why is this?

In most cases, \someletter is not defined by default

I'm completely new to BibTex and I'm having a slight problem

In my .bib file I have an entry that contains the following code:

title = {PET-scanning – Den Store Danske}

Notice the capital D, S and D. Those are converted to lower-case when printing the bibliography in my latex document using \nocite{*} and \bibliography{test.bib}

Does anyone might know what's causing this? I can provide a minimal example if needed.

@Argo it sort of works but looks wrong to me: sorry for my lack of understanding of the language but isn't Den Store Danske} a name rather than part of the title (If bibtex knew it was a name it wouldn't title case it)

"Den Store Danske" is an online encyclopedia like Wikipedia or Britannica Encyclodedia (except that it's in danish)

@FaheemMitha they are not in the ascii range so they need a command, other than that they are not special.

@Argo yes so it should be in a different field to the PET-scanning bit the – is part of the formatting between fields that ought to be added by your bst style. (If it's working I'm not saying you should change it, but just saying... :-)

hmm this suggests using title for the article and booktitle for the encyclopedia (but complaining the result isn't very nice:) biblatex (a newer alternative to bibtex has a collection field that might apply but I've never really used biblatex) tug.org/pipermail/texhax/2006-July/006446.html

@Cortizol "works" is a comparative term:-) The main reason for putting something in a floating environment (and the reason they are so called) is to allow latex to move the content to help page breaking. H makes it a non-float so it's just a complicated alternative to just using the content directly and not putting it in the floating environment.

@Argo well you can use a caption in a minipage with the capt-of package (which is less than a line of code, but mostly you shouldn't need a caption, the reason for captioning and numbering a table or figure is so that it has some context when moved. If it is part of the text flow it doesn't need a caption, just as an equation doesn't need captioning.

@percusse I'd go with a simple two-colour gradient (yellow to green, for example). You don't need that many colours just to represent a simple linear function.
