2 hours later…
7:49 AM
@TheDestroyer It is not opening.

8:11 AM
@SreeCharan Go to source and search for .pdf. src = "content/...." add indianscriptures.com before that to access that pdf.

@TheDestroyer Thanks, btw, I don't read scripture in English.
@Tezz btw, is Brahman looks divided in this image to you?

@Pandya On Sanskrit SE, no need to add new question. I found answer for that question. Answer lies in Sanskrit grammar. Syntax of Sanskrit is very clear which is the reason it is considered as best language for programming. There's no ambiguity in sentences. For examples, in english if we say, "Rama saw Lakshmana with an arrow". In this sentence, who has arrow? Rama or Lakshmana? English is very ambiguous. But Sanskrit is not.
@Pandya ok.

@TheDestroyer ok.

@Pandya I think Supreme Brahman really made a beautiful and logical language to deliver the divine truth. Unfortunately, Modern India forgot Sanskrit. It was official language for more than 4000 years of "known" history.

:(
@TheDestroyer Yes, I feel sometimes that I don't deserve to learn Vedas until I don't learn Sanskrit.

8:28 AM
@Pandya Yes. We MUST learn them in Sanskrit only as primary language. I'm learning it now. After getting some basic to intermediate knowledge, i will start reading Upanishads (with Commentaries) in both Sanskrit and English.

@TheDestroyer Excellent!
Haha

@Pandya Yes. why to only rely on others or take their interpretations? We can analyze them too. Though a Guru must be needed.
@Pandya haha.

@TheDestroyer Good point. Btw, Advaita philosophy looks similar to me: Why relay on other things? Know your true self and Absolute Truth (AtmaJnana)!
Btw, I'm looking for Aitareya Aranyaka verse 2.4.3 /cc @KeshavSrinivasan

Yeah. For now, i too believe in Advaita Vedanta. Actually, in Maya, relatively everything (every Philosophy) is possible. There is actually a beautiful sentence in Shankara Digvijaya: Shiva says to Kartikeya, "The Veda has three strands in its comprehensive teaching
-The ritualistic, the meditative and the gnostic. By establishing
the sway of the Veda with its three-pronged message, the spiritual
ideal can be preserVed in the world. If the spiritual ideal is saved,
society is saved. For, sound social organisation leading to the
@Pandya We can't completely neglect mediatative or ritualistic portion but Knowledge portion is superior. All Schools of thought are true to certain extent and their followers might have corrupted some schools of philosphy, like Buddhism.

8:44 AM
@TheDestroyer Right; Agree
Btw, I've not read Shankara Digvijaya which I think I should read.

@Pandya what do you mean by " btw, is Brahman looks divided in this image to you?"

8:51 AM
They removed indianscriptures.com before /content/Articles....
So, we are not able to access them.
@SreeCharan

@Tezz The image is about Vishishtadvaita according to which Jivatma is completely different from Brahman and Brahman dwells in Jivatma. So, Brahman looks divided by his body (Jivatma).
@Tezz I mean represented by green and yellow color
Though red is Brahman, it doesn't divide Brahman.
@Tezz actually I mean separated/divided.

@TheDestroyer @Tezz @Pandya - What abt.the idea - if we take a screen shot of entire page of purana /book and then give the link of that page by hosting the screenshot image on ,hosting site like imgur.

@SwiftPushkar This site by default posts to imgur. But size should be less than 5MB.

@Pandya do you mean to say... Red colour though seen different is not different from Brahman.. then how did green and yellow became different...?...

@TheDestroyer This is what I see.

9:00 AM
@TheDestroyer - ok , i know that , but do we need to register to imgur ? and where is that option.can we directly upload images to imgur with HI SE registration details? or from here

@Tezz According to BG 13.17 Brahman is never divided. But here it looks divided for me as Yello and Green part (which is not Brahman in anyway according to Vishishtadvaita) divide/separate Brahman dwelling inside.

@KeshavSrinivasan You asked me if i need any help in searching books. Yes. I need "Yoga Sutras of Patanjali with the Exposition of Vyasa - Vo. 2". I have Volume 1.
@SreeCharan what browser are you using?

@TheDestroyer Result is same for chrome and firefox.

Search for .pdf . ctrl+F and type .pdf
@SwiftPushkar The images we share in chat or answers are uploaded to imgur by default.

9:03 AM
@TheDestroyer I typed indianscriptures.com before/contents and this is what I saw.

@TheDestroyer - ok ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜Š

@SreeCharan Copy Url and paste in browser or IDM.

@TheDestroyer looks Computing/Tech Guru! Haha

@Pandya haha. Not though in reality :P

@TheDestroyer you may find SU interested for you.

@Pandya You too must be familiar with these things.

What do you think: who will get graduation first Hinduism.SE or @KrishnShweta ? Haha
@TheDestroyer of course. Btw, which steps? copying link and downloading?...

@Pandya I've completed my graduation in 2016 :P

@Pandya checking html code...

@KrishnShweta oh! Your profile says still pursuing:
@KrishnShweta btw, Congratulation!
@TheDestroyer well, it depends upon code. (Btw, I am on mobile now)

@Pandya Ok.
@SreeCharan did you get it?

9:18 AM
@TheDestroyer No. I don't have the url.

@Pandya Yeah. I didn't changed my profile b'cz I've took an oath that unless I'll hire a company I will not buy a new phone and I'll not change my profile (as I'm studying same the subjects now also)
@Pandya Thanks :)

@TheDestroyer yes, I'm familiar with finding files/links from html code.

@TheDestroyer Does the indianscriptures have other version with sanskrit other than motilal's?
@SwiftPushkar From where did you type the shlokas in the rudraksha answer?

@SreeCharan Ok. Tell me which chapter you want? i will fetch you the url.

Does it have sanskrit verses also?
I have motilal upto vidyeshwara samhita chapter 43 with english translation. But I am looking for the chapter where parvati curses agni and other deities for not having children anymore.
@TheDestroyer ^^^

9:26 AM
:34900367 yeah surname

@Pandya @KrishnShweta Ahem...

@Pandya Thanks for deleting. But where did you see that?

@SreeCharan it's in Rudra Samhita Kumara khanda just after devas stealing semen of Shiva.
Do you want that chapter?

@KrishnShweta on your network profile. Is anything going wrong with you?

@TheDestroyer Yes. I am writing an answer.

9:29 AM

@KrishnShweta I know...

@Pandya No nothing is wrong :) and that's because being girl I must hide such things.

@SreeCharan By the way, @KrishnShweta also belongs to Vallabhacharya's sect.
@KrishnShweta Is it right? ^^^

@KrishnShweta oh! ok. Btw, you may change your network profile. It is still showing.

@SreeCharan Hmm... yeah exactly. That's why I was clearing Krishna doesn't mean Vallabhacharya's sect

@Pandya Oh!! How can I change that? ^^

@KrishnShweta Do you see "Update profile info" link?

@SreeCharan Yeah. I belong to Rudra sampradaya. So @KeshavSrinivasan introduced me about Vallabhacharya
@Pandya Yeah.

@KrishnShweta Try to synchronize with suitable account.

@SreeCharan do you want these pdf s?

9:37 AM
@Pandya does it mean I need to add different account which doesn't contain my surname?

@KrishnShweta I think you might have used your surname in your oldest account on StackExchange.
@KrishnShweta Let's synchronize with Hinduism.SE and tell is it (name) changing or not?

@Pandya So what's the 1st step? ^.^

@KrishnShweta click on "Update Profile Info" and select Hinduism.SE or any other where you've not used your surname in display name currently.

@Pandya Done :)

9:46 AM
Now I'm Krishn Shweta forever in Stack exchange ^.^

@KrishnShweta ^^ looks ok. Now

@Pandya Thanks

@SreeCharan are you trying to answer it.. hinduism.stackexchange.com/questions/16825/…

@Tezz Yep..

@SreeCharan Oh ok... Go on.. all the best๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€...

9:52 AM
@Tezz Did you thought of writing?

@SreeCharan No, I didn't...
I just saw it...

@TheDestroyer Last night I've learned 3rd shloka of Shiva Tandavam
that was so tough and seems more tougher shlokas are ahead ^.^
@Tezz Hello :)

@KrishnShweta Hi... how are you... ?...

@Tezz Raat me chat karte hai na yaha par tho hum log sab aapku yaad karte hai :)

@KrishnShweta Congratulations...

9:55 AM
@Tezz I'm good. How about you?
@SreeCharan Thanks (but why :P)

@KrishnShweta the best verse in Shiva Tandava Stotram to me is " Smarãntakam Purãntakam Bhavãntakam Makhãntakam.. Gajãntakãntakãndhakam tamantakãntakam bhaje.. "

@Tezz That's the most difficult verse.

@KrishnShweta I've only day data pack... so..
@KrishnShweta as usual.. I guess I'm good...

@Tezz Okay.

@Tezz Have you got what I wanted to discuss for Vishishtadvaita?
@KrishnShweta btw, confusion Is your name Krishn or Shweta?

10:02 AM
@Pandya My name is Shweta.

Yeah..

@Tezz for me favorite verse is "Kada nirlimpa nirjari"
@KrishnShweta for me most difficult verse is "Jayat Vada Bhravibrama..."

@TheDestroyer that's part of 1st verse right?

It took 3 days for me learn that verse.
@KrishnShweta last but one.
I like meaning of that verse.

13.1: When will I Dwell in a Cave within the Dense Woods by the side of the River Goddess Ganga and ...
13.2: ... being Free Forever from Sinful Mental Dispositions Worship Shiva Keeping my Hands on the Forehead?
13.3: When will I be Free from the Rolling of the Eyes (signifying lustful tendencies) and Worship Shiva applying the Sacred Mark on the Forehead?

@KrishnShweta Happiness is mediatating on Shiva. ๐Ÿ˜€

10:09 AM
@TheDestroyer I mean "nirlimpa nirjari" is also there in 1st verse

@KrishnShweta Yeah. Used for Goddess Ganga.

@TheDestroyer OK..

@KrishnShweta Because you learnt 3rd shloka of shiva tandavam.

@SreeCharan Shukriya :P

@SreeCharan Did you watch Satakarni movie? There are many mistakes in movie. Some historians say Satakarni didn't perform Rajasuya yajnam.
Also, he didn't fight with yavana demetrius.

10:29 AM
@TheDestroyer Sorry for the late reply. My internet connection is playing with me. I too thought the same. IMO, he is not hte saka purusa nad didn't perform the rajasuya jagna.
@KrishnShweta There is nilimpa nirjari in many places..

@SreeCharan Yeah. His empire was til Nashik, pataliputra and Ujjain. I think he didn't touch Saurastra.

@SreeCharan Do you mean Ganga in many places?

@KrishnShweta The word "nilimpa nirjari"
@KrishnShweta Yes.
@KrishnShweta The 1st appearance is in 2nd verse. not 1st.

@SreeCharan Yeah true.

Can at least this room have เฅ or ๅ symbol? Haha

10:44 AM
@Pandya Ha Ha...
@Pandya How about naming the primary chat room of our site as Sanatana dharma?/cc @AnkitSharma @KeshavSrinivasan @TheDestroyer

@SreeCharan Good idea but other users (outers) may not get what it is about.

How long has it been an outer has visited that chat room? Ha Ha.. @Pandya

@SreeCharan You can propose it on meta like:

Ankit SharmaCurrently, our chatroom name is "Hinduism". Are we going to stick with it? If not, what should we change it to? Note: Feel free to add your chatroom name suggestions as answers.

@Pandya^^
I did tried
If you can make ur suggestion more upvoted, I will rename it

@AnkitSharma oh! it seems I've missed it. Thanks.

@AnkitSharma I think we can add a Sanskrit verse in name like Dharma rakshati rakshataha..(not necessarily this one but something which looks cool).๐Ÿ˜€

@SwiftPushkar Hat are temporary fun

@Pandya I don't know what you mean by Aitareya Aranyaka verse 2.4.3. The Aitareya Aranyaka consists of three Aranyakas, which each consist of multiple Adhyayas, which each consist of multiple Khandas, which each consist of multiple verses. So if you wanted to specify a single verse, you would need for numbers, not three.
@Pandya 2.4.3 would denote an entire section of the Aitareya Aranyaka, not a single verse: sacred-texts.com/hin/sbe01/sbe01224.htm There are 11 verses in this section.
@TheDestroyer @Pandya @Tezz By the way, the "meditative" portion of the Vedas refers to the Devata Kanda. When he says "Now, coming to understand My design and following My instruction, Hari and Sesha have already been born as the sages Sankarshana and Patanjali for the resuscitation of the middle section of the Veda dealing
with meditation and have produced texts on Bhakti and Yoga," he is referring to Sankarshana's commentary on the Devata Kanda Sutras.
@TheDestroyer @Pandya @Tezz The Devata Kanda Sutras are also known as the Madhyama Kanda Sutras. That's why he says "middle section of the Vedas".

@KeshavSrinivasan I didn't know there was Devata khanda untill i read Shankara Digvijaya.
@KeshavSrinivasan I know Patanjali. Who is Sankarshana?

@TheDestroyer @Pandya @Tezz Sankarshana is mentioned as one of the commentators on the Devata Kanda Sutras in the Prapancha Hridaya quote I posted earlier:
Jan 10 at 23:21, by Keshav Srinivasan
@Tezz @Pandya You two may be interested in this quote from a Mimamsa work called the Prapancha Hridaya, listing various pre-Shankara Mimamsa and Vedanta commentators:
"The Mimamsa Shastra is contained in a text of 20 chapters. Of these, the first 16 chapters constitute the Purva Mimamsa. In this Mimamsa Shastra, the Purvakanda deals on issues of Dharma, and is compiled by Jaimini. The last 4 chapters constitute the Uttara Kanda or the Uttara Mimamsa and are compiled by Vyasa for dealing with the nature of Brahman. On this Mimamsa Shastra of 20 chapters, Bodhayana wrote a Bhashya that bore t
@TheDestroyer The Devata Kanda refers to the Samhitas of the Vedas. There was originally a 20-chapter unified Mimamsa Shastra which analyzed all parts of the Vedas. The first 12 chapters were Jaimini's Purva Mimamsa Sutras, which analyzed the Karma Kanda of the Vedas, i.e. the Brahmanas. The next 4 chapters were Kasakritsna's Devata Kanda Sutras, which analyzed the Devata Kanda of the Vedas, i.e. the Samhitas.
@TheDestroyer And the final 4 chapters were Vyasa's Brahma Sutras, which analyzed the Jnana Kanda of the Vedas, i.e. the Upanishads. Jaimini and Kasakritsna were both shishyas of Vyasa. So Vyasa and his two disciples together wrote this 20 chapter work.
@TheDestroyer Unfortunately Kasakritsna's Devata Kanda Sutras are now lost. We only have the Purva Mimamsa Sutras and the Brahma Sutras left.

3:32 PM
@KeshavSrinivasan ohh.. from where content of Brahmanas taken? From Samhitas? Rishis only heard Samhitas in deep mediatation.

@TheDestroyer The Devata Kanda Sutras existed all the way until the time of Appaya Dikshitar, who lived in the 1500's. Given that they were lost so recently the Muslims or British may be the blame.
@TheDestroyer In any case, Sankarshana was a commentator on Kasakritsna's Devata Kanda Sutras.

Keshav SrinivasanAs I discuss in this question, by far the most popular school of Hindu philosophy is the Vedanta school, which bases its tenets on the doctrines laid out in the Brahma Sutras, a work by the sage Vyasa that summarizes and systematizes the philosophical teachings of the Upanishads.
