So the bottom left clock is the orange, and interpreting the orange light as north makes the hands point northeast and south.

Exactly! almost every riddle is about something or someone, so at least 50% of them would have to be retagged

It also doesn't need to be distinct from a who-am-I tag so neither should exist

close audits are pretty dumb since I check the actual question itself anyways and if I need to vtc it is already closed

@Lordofdark Nah, I just removed the tag. There's a way to do it with mod tools for a large number of questions, but it wasn't super necessary here.

My instinct would be hex since the letters don't go higher than E

But that's probably too simple

Also the shorter string carved in the wall is probably a key

I'm not really good with ciphers though

they suspiciously end in 'f12' (exception of last) though I don't know what encoding has that pattern

the brown tile it's on is #4c2f12, which also ends in f12
