I can't connect to my friends minecraft. We have the same version and internet. When one of us tries to join we get the message and they appear. But they are frozen and the dash on the other persons game doesn't spin. What do we do.
it seems there's a neverending stream of skyrim "I lost my follower" questions too. I think I looked the other day and the one "where's my follower" question has at least 50 other questions linked to it.
minecraft and skyrim both tend to attract inexperienced gamers, let's say
the scary part is, this is the first video game experience for a lot of kids. they're free and they're cute and they keep the kid occupied for however long they're allowed to play. think about if your first game was candy crush instead of like super mario bros. or something. what would you want 10 years later?
@StrixVaria No, it's... hard to explain. you play as a god and you have a personal hero (who is moderately brain damaged and alcoholic) who goes through a parody MMORPG, and you can influence him/her in a multiple of ways.
@agent86 Nah. My kids were quickly bored by those games and moved on to Minecraft. I mean, if that was the only type of game the kids could play, but there are options.
these are "real games" to people. the market for them is orders of magnitudes larger than the market ever was for Mario. for some people, these games we consider to be beneath us are all they're likely to ever play.
I don't think Mario is going anywhere, but I also don't think these other things are either. Makes me wonder what nostalgic gaming will look like a decade from now.
@JasonBerkan yeah, I have several different games I'll play in rotation on my android device. I mean, CoC makes you wait like... a week or something sometimes, so it's not always feasible to rotate back to it a few times in a sitting. but still.
I'll play like a game of threes or some tower defense game while I wait.
it's weird, because I would think that most people would say "ugh, no" whenever they get to a really hard level in some of these games. but they don't... they come back over and over again, and drop lots of money on it.
@AshleyNunn I can't find my nail polish removeeeeeeeeer

@Frank I dunno, I can see how it is a viable model. And I mean don't like it, don't play? There are plenty of games that still work on the "free" or "pay once" model.
@Rapitor And then got brought here, and the time allowed is dialled down, I suspect. Because they wouldn't make any money leaving them at Korean standards
user15026
when mine dry I will send you a picture of them, this stuff I got is neat
@AshleyNunn Awesome! It's a little late right now to paint mine, but I'll probably do it sometime this week. Gonna do the dark blue from the Chroma Chameleon set I bought.
@Frank No one said that you can't take a stand. An alternative viewpoint to yours, however, is "it doesn't matter what I do in the grand scheme of things, so I might as well enjoy myself."
Others, like you, want to fight.

@Rapitor Please to not make assumptions like that about me.
STARCITYGAMES RIPS PEOPLE OFF ON MTG SINGLES EVERY SINGLE DAY. ALL I CAN DO IS TELL PEOPLE THAT THEY OVERCHARGE AND LET THEM MAKE A DECISION ON THEIR OWN.
@AUTOGAMICADBOT It's like my coffee rule - for mobile games, if I want to spend money, I go "is it less than a cup of good coffee? Will I enjoy it longer? Sure. Okay."
To me, I would care if I thought that the mobile F2P market was the future of ALL gaming. I don't think that, so I don't care. The people who play those games (like my wife) are not the same set that play "regular" games.
@AshleyNunn For sure. The sets overlap. But in the future, there will still be platformers, strategy games, adventure games, survival horror games et al. that are not F2P, because there will always be a market for them.
I'm fine with F2P and I'm equally fine with pay-once, but pay-once + micro/sub is not acceptable. If the pay-once is lowered (like 15$ instead of the 60$) with micro it'll be more acceptable
@lumbricuslubricant if you'd like us to take a look at something, a better idea is to flag something the user's posted. I can't really go into specifics about particular users and voting behaviors in public, and it's a lot faster/easier to track if I get a flag than if it's posted in chat.
My roomate's oven mit is a piece of shit that was chewed by a renter's dog many years ago and I burned myself really badly through a hole in it last night
@AshleyNunn Jochem and I are potentially maybe thinking about looking into geocaching. He said it sounds fun and we both need an excuse to get out of the house.

@AUTOGAMICADBOT Well, you can log it on geocaching.com. Let me peek at the app to see if there's a way to log from there
