basically the entire meta that they have been playing this season is gone during playoffs to qualify for worlds.

teams literally had 2 weeks to adjust to a major meta shift before qualifying for worlds

@sequoiad they shouldnt have to adapt in 2 weeks before qualifying for worlds. it's like a regular sports team having to learn completely new rules to the game they have to play during playoffs

It'll make for a more interesting tournament anyway

i agree that the meta gets a little stale after awhile, but any major changes should happen after worlds in preparation for the next season, not during the season

Yorick was completely oppressive in lane while still being kind of underpowered, which is a ridiculous and awful balance issue.

It's not like FPSes where you have quick 10-15 minute rounds. Although I guess League is kinda getting there with the emphasis on early-game snowballing.

Watching HoTS tournaments recently the map rotation really helps keep it interesting

Well, considering my argument is that I don't like the way a MOBA goes through balance changes, that's kinda the point.

It's a tough problem to solve, though.

Riot wants to put out beneficial changes for non-pro players as fast as they're ready.

If they locked in the pro version at the beginning of the season, then the game the pros are playing continues to get out of sync with the current version of the game, which has a bunch of bad effects.

It means that when pros play casual games it might negatively influence their ability to play in their pro games.

@StrixVaria Well, professional tournaments already use different patches from players. When the Yorick update is shipped, Worlds will still be on the previous patch.

The point is that Riot usually distinguishes between major and minor patches, which is great.

@Yuuki Right, they have a lag so that pros can learn the new patch before they're mandated to do it in pro games immediately.

I have a payment table that holds payments in it. These have transaction and refund ids. I get notifications regarding the status of these transactions and refunds, however the notification just gives me an id and doesn't distinguish between refunds or transactions

I mean, the advice I've gotten so far is good, I just get super nervous/anxious around people. Particularly in closed spaces. I've been trying to work on it though.

not like hyperventilating but taking deep breaths and feeling the air in your lungs

Every one has their own coping tactic, a lot sound weird

it both distracts you from the anxiety and helps you get oxygen, because the stress response is usually to hold your breath, which doesn't work for long periods of time

but yeah, do whatever works for you

(that is also legal in your jurisdiction)

Pro tip: Regardless of legallity, smoking weed before an interview is a bad idea

one of my interviews the person used a term i wasn't familiar with. I told him i wasn't sure what he was talking about because i wasn't familiar with the term. he then explained it and i was able to complete the task

yeah i've done that too, where i know a technique but not the specific term for it

he also asked me if a knew about a specific thing and i told him no. he moved on after that, but when the interview was finished, i asked some of my friends and they had never heard of it either.

I got asked "and what about the base case?" once during a programming exercise and totally blew the interview on that (and possibly other things) because my brain was just like "powering down now" and I completely blanked on what was going on

Which of course makes it worse in retrospect because you're like "Whaaat that was so simple you dummy"
