I got my RDM up to level 40 in FF11... Gear is ridiculously hard to find in that game.

Combine that with the gil selling websites, and you have level 5 gear in the AH for 200k gil. It broke the game.

@agent86 It's made so people can still multiplayer even if minecraft.net is down. However, Ronan is right. There is a security risk to it (which the server warns you about when you turn it on) which allows anyone to log in as anyone. i.e. if you're OP on your server with online-mode=false and your server were publicly accessible, I could log in as you, and have OP powers, because the check that I was actually the person with that name is off. Personally, I think it's excellent that Notch

gives people the option.
