@DucatiKiller - Now it's legit ... someone got excited and pushed me over the edge :o)

I think it was me :-)
congrats man
amazing that you have 50K.

Amazing that anyone has gotten there, lol! I'm thankful the voting has increased, not for my own sake, but I have definitely reaped the rewards for it.
@DucatiKiller - I cannot wait to return the sentiment to you.
@DucatiKiller - Is that you with the friend request on Roadkill.com?

tis not
It will take me a few years to hit 50k
it seems almost impossible

Nah. You probably thought 10k was impossible 2 months ago.
:D

I made it a goal during my downtime by looking at your profile and then looking all the MC questions. I guessed that I could do it within 45 days and it took me 50 some.
I can't keep that kind of level up

The main thing you have to do is stay active ... it doesn't mean you have to be on top of every question ... just answer something once in a while. I know I've answered a lot of questions, but that's because nobody else was answering then.

Q: Driving slower at low constant rpms or driving fast to get to destination faster, which saves more gas?

Jomar SevillejoAs the question title says. I am a new driver and I understand that driving at higher RPMs can burn more gas faster. However getting to a destination longer, in my mind, seem to increase the amount of time you were spending gas. Are there any scientific theories? Which is better? Also, on a di...

I cannot quite grasp if this is a driving technique question ... what do you think?

it's trying to be a fuel economy question but I think it's failing

I wonder how we can get the question into shape?

I think if he mods the question it becomes a dupe
It turns into the coasting question
and the various fuel economy questions
I think he's screwed no matter waht

Oh, that bites ... it happened to me once ... because someone downvoted an answer, lol!

yup. I had three downvotes on my multimeter question

Ay @ᴘᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2, I may have beaten you to more chars in an answer. Not sure tho haha

Oh, snap
@J.Musser - Show me so I can be impressed ... even more than I am regularly in you, brother!

I don't know if that one really counts, though ... I copied a lot of that answer from the internet.
I mean, no sense re-inventing the wheel, eh?

A lot of mine is copied to, although I had to type it out

I'll really be impressed if you tell me it was done on a phone, lol!

Now that's an answer, J. Musser!
Nice.

Took like an hour to type.

I've spent upwards of four hours on an answer before ... grueling

hmm, I think its fun
wish I could more often.

I saw that question on your site. Helluva an answer!

I also tried not to cover too much ground that was in Sherwood's answer, because it was well written and deserves it's own place.

next level Musser

12:51 AM
@J.Musser - Don't get me wrong. I enjoyed doing it ... it just was an ordeal to get it done and right.

@ᴘᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 Yes. You should see all the formatting I had to do in this one. It is not pretty inside hahaha
Aww I am making you cry @DucatiKiller haha

DucatiKillerIt sounds like a valve adjustment is required There are many items that can make a 'ticking' noise that is tied to the RPM of the vehicle. Having the sound match RPM's certainly gives a clue that it is associated with the operation of the engine. Many times a valve adjustment is required. Thi...

@DucatiKiller - You can just place the screwdriver up to your cheekbone and get all of the sound ... don't have to close off the ear :-)

Q: How do you test analogue electrical circuits?

Nick CWhen trying to diagnose problems with conventional analogue electrical circuits, such as lights, speakers, heated rear windows, etc, as well as short-circuits and unexplained current draws, it can be difficult to track down the exact source of the problem. What is the best way of doing so?

Hey guys
No answers to my Ferrari question :(
Yet

cool question. Maybe no one here knows...
Maybe Ferrari didn't tell anyone

@J.Musser the only reason I put the Ferrari in the title was to catch people's attention. The question is far bigger than Ferrari
And you're right, Ferrari won't tell anyone ;)

haha
I could see an answer to that getting quite long, ha

I'm not expecting an essay
I just want a way to be able to choose one firing order over another. Gimme a metric (or set of metrics) that I can turn into a number and I'll take care of the rest

1:07 PM
I posted an awesome answer to someone's bountied question, and it appears the bounty giver won't be around
so an older (lesser) answer will get it
xD

Funny you should mention that. I got a bounty yesterday when I wasn't expecting it

hmm

The top two answers were tied and mine was the newer one

My answer is equal in votes to the other, but auto gives to the older unless a newer has greater score
@Zaid that's... weird

It is

it's supposed to award to the older

A: What is the difference between torque and horsepower?

This was the answer

perhaps it's because the other recieved a downvote

Oh... That sucks

But in my case I +1'ed the other answer because it was good.
So guess it's my fault if they get the +100
xD

I +1'd as well

I just answered 14 of our unanswered on GL
only 52 left to go!
and 20 rep away from hitting the cap

Which is GL?

Gardening and Landscaping
@BobCross The one I spend most of my time on, and have my 30k.
308 rep today so far
working on our unanswered list atm
even though there are less than 60 unanswerd

Neat. Not my area but it's always fun to talk to people who need out in something else. ;-)

Latest question of mine here takes 500 views in 2 hours, and makes the hot network questions list.
@BobCross need out?

Nerd out.

oh ha
Every time I take a break from the site the unanswered q's pile up.
annoying, as it should be something the whole community takes on

I had something like that role here years ago. Now there are people who are much quicker on the draw than me. I can concentrate on ... What is it I do?

Right now 54% of my answers have been accepted there... Guess with this crazy output that won't keep up with me

Dear JavaFX, you're making me crazy. Er. Crazier.

I'm always flowing toward outline formatting because I start every document I make with that style for work. Then I try and back it all out and then.....

A: Honda EU3000is K1 Generator - Replace Gas Tank

DucatiKillerHere's the owners manual from the Honda Power Equipment website It doesn't have what your looking for But, if you look on page 51 it shows how to remove fascia related to the front cover. Q: Brake fluid doesn't move in the master cylinder container

MDrazorI have done a clutch bleed on my toyota corolla e120 2006 because I had some difficulties shifting out of 1st gear, I bled it through the slave cylinder and I noticed the fluid was dark black, I was checking the fluid level of course, after clear fluid was coming without air I closed the valve an...

7:49 PM
@DucatiKiller, do you think there is a divider in that master cylinder that goes up to the MAX line to keep the brake and clutch mostly separate?

There must be, right?

If that's the case he could have drained the MC's clutch side.
That would make sense to isolate a severe leak in the clutch from the brakes.

that's what I'm thinking, but how does the fluid get into the reservoir ?

I would assume you have to keep filling it after the brake side is up to MAX.
Then it waterfalls into the clutch side.
all assumption based on slight shading in the pictures...

that would make sense

7:52 PM
Posing as a comment...

based upon this picture

omg...

I've trying to figure out how to make this an SE meme
so the wall inside the reservoir would be as high as the max fill line for the brake portion of the reservoir.

Yes, which also makes sense because his fluid is EXACTLY at the MAX line.
When does that ever happen?

It could have the 'split' fill if you pull off the cap too.

7:55 PM
Mine is always a little under since, you know, I use my brakes.

Yea, but that would be obvious enough for the OP to see.

yeah, probably right. OP doesn't seem 'slow'.

Well formed questions go a long way when giving the benefit of the doubt.

agreed. too bad OP is an unregistered user. we may never know the outcome

Yea, I can't imagine he waited on some internet yahoos and just let the broken car sit.

Q: No spark on a Craftsman line trimmer

Clint65I have a Craftsman Trimmer and I'm was not getting a spark when starting it. I tested it with a spark tester and had no spark. I next removed the ground wire from the magneto to isolate it from the starter circuit, but still had no spark. I removed the magneto completely and was about to replac...

11:08 PM
@DucatiKiller That's one of the great things about SE ... there is always room for more/better answers. :D
@J.Musser - I think the magneto is grounding itself ... it probably needs a new magneto to solve the issue, but I don't think I'd tell him that. I don't know how to test the magneto directly, so I don't want to answer the question with this advice.

@ᴘᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 ah
tryna clear the unanswered questions
we don't really have any mechanics over there xD

Gotcha.
You should have it sent over here ... would make a lot more sense.
But alas, it's too old.
I can put this as an answer and leave a caveat that I don't know how to test it beyond what I've said here.

@ᴘᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 Not a motor vehicle...
hahaha
in any sense of the word
@ᴘᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 If I posted an answer, it'd prolly be kinda cheap, like 'take it to a mech'

@J.Musser - We've had plenty of questions about lawn equipment here.
If it has an engine, we're good.

@ᴘᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 hmm good to know
The name should be changed, then

11:19 PM
Haha! Maybe.
Anyway ... you want me to throw that in there?

Sure!
If you don't mind
that'd be awesome

Let me look and see if there is a way to test the magneto first. Then I'll throw something in there. Might even get a tick or two out of it ;-)

A: No spark on a Craftsman line trimmer

ᴘᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2You can test your magneto (can also be called a coil) directly to see if it works. If you have the coil off of the engine, you can do a resistance test on it to see if it's fried. I don't know what the exact make of the engine is, since Craftsman power tools utilize many different brands and re-b...
