@slm you may be right about that dupe actually. I just checked and the time is indeed stored in the history file but only for the commands run since I set HISTTIMEFORMAT. For previous commands, there is no time info in the file yet they nevertheless get a time in the history command. Looks like the time the session started so I am now curious as to how history gets that info.

hats have disappeared on new chat messages

oh?
ah
yes
nope, there's mine

wait... nevermind.
there isn't one on your message about the dupe but I guess it's just a bug

the message or message succession has to be tall enough
I think it takes two lines
it might even depend on the hat placement

hat placement I'll believe. mine's displayed with only one line

11:18 PM
mine...
is displayed
I think
yay

@Braiam say one line

@strugee one line

yep, it's there
I think @Gilles should put his hat into his avatar so that people think it's a secret 150k rep thing or something

@strugee With half an hour to go… this is how you got the DD hat
and I'm one upvote (and perhaps a few views) away from it

@Gilles ah. I noticed that this morning but didn't make the connection

11:24 PM
@strugee you got it a couple of hours ago
I cast the 6th vote to confirm our guess

@Gilles I meant that I looked at the ads and noticed that I passed the threshold this morning, but I didn't make the connection with the hats

@strugee no, you didn't. The threshold is 6 and you were at +5 earlier today

@Gilles I didn't what?

@Gilles I guess we'll find out

I can't even figure out which riddle it goes with

> There are only so many people capable of putting together words that stir and move and sing. When it became possible to earn a very good living in advertising by exercising this capability, lyric poetry was left to untalented screwballs who had to shriek for attention and compete by eccentricity.

ah. didn't think to Google the text
well, it sure isn't views. the FreeDesktop ad has gotten exactly 1 click, and that's from me. unless that's not what you were talking about

@strugee maybe it takes a click

no, I got the hat before I did the click
it must be votes

@strugee how can you find out the click count?
Ah, well, hats are off. @Gilles did you get the draper with that upvote?

@terdon yes!

11:34 PM
and yes you did. OK, 6 votes it is :)

@terdon 6 votes to show the ad, and it probably required a click as well

slm
@Gilles - any thoughts on this one?

Q: How to parse ISO8601 dates with linux date command

alex.forencichI'm trying to use the date command to generate a file timestamp that the date command itself can interpret. However, the date command does not seem to like its own output, and I am not sure how to work around this. Case in point: sh-4.2$ date Fri Jan 3 14:22:19 PST 2014 sh-4.2$ date +%Y%m%dT%...

These time Q's always stump me

probably, give me a few minutes, I haven't finished my daily round of voting

slm
k

@slm yeah, that one was weird. What's the T doing in the middle of the OP's date? I thought that might be the issue.

11:37 PM
Suddenly, there are so many people care to make an ads here :)

@Gilles I don't think so, I bet it just took a couple of minutes to register (like badges)
@hwlau have fun coming up with a good one, then getting 6 upvotes on it in the last 22 or so minutes :P
@terdon meta.unix.stackexchange.com/ads/display/2549. you click the "stats" link when you hover over an ad

@strugee I can't do that as I don't have any good idea about ads. Otherwise, I will do that a week ago for it

the URL is associated with the question that you got to it from, which is why it says "return to question". based on messing with the URL that's the only way to get to it
and the ads don't display on the front page, only on (some) questions

can somebody help me with xdebug ? after installing xdebug it is not appearing in phpinfo(). Command php -v shows
PHP Warning: Module 'xdebug' already loaded in Unknown on line 0

@Ravs sounds like a question for main
and god, I hate Apple's EFI firmware

11:49 PM
@Ravs that's probably better suited to Stack Overflow. We don't really do PHP stuff here so much.

@terdon it's PHP :P

argh, meant php

> Xdebug v2.2.3, Copyright (c) 2002-2013, by Derick Rethans
I see is already loaded, what is the problem???

@Ravs seems to expect that it should also be shown in phpinfo()
@Ravs can you use it?

@Braiam not appearing in phpinfo()
@Braiam as you said i installed 64 bit xampp.
xampp running without any error
but xdebug is not running
what is that warning ?
PHP Warning: Module 'xdebug' already loaded in Unknown on line 0

11:54 PM
That just means you are loading it twice in a config file so it complains that it is already loaded. Should not be a problem.

ok

How are you checking if xdebug is running?

i'm checking it by looking for it in phpinfo()
if it is installed it should appear their
right?

Don't know, just debuggin :)
The thing is that the command line php and the server side one are separate as I just discovered. SO perhaps having it in php -v is not an indication that it is correctly installed for the server's php

ok
that is why it is not appearing in phpinfo()
