Oh, I kinda like working with GNU autotools...

@FaheemMitha I just put those tiny shell tools that me and @terdon chatted about yesterday into a proper repository and wrapped them in GNU autotools. Made it easy to check for existance of ksh93 or bash and then insert that into the #! line in the scripts, etc. etc.

@Kusalananda I thought one was supposed to write m4 macros.

@FaheemMitha Only if you really need to. Many tests that one may put into a configure.ac file will have a macro already made for it, and other things can be done with shell code. Only if there are very complicated things that needs macrofying do you need to write m4 macros.

I have so far not had to write macros for autotools. But then again, I've only ever work with them very few times. One larger project and some toy projects.
