10:00 PM
like asdfg aqwerty -> qwerty qwerty?

@MatthewRoh this is a security hole by the way

@micsthepick Maybe something like that.

@PhiNotPi that's cool

@WheatWizard Sorry for being gone, I did git clone https://github.com/DJMcMayhem/Brain-Flak.git in the git console, now what? How do I test the code that I have

@ATaco yes
@MistahFiggins open tio.run and select "Brain-Flak" :P

10:05 PM
> brain-flak

I have Brain-Flak Classic code I want to test

@Downgoat what betseg said is nice
@MistahFiggins don't you need to clone an older rev?

@Downgoat Why g? Why not :%s?

I think that there is a flag you can set to run classic code

Either way, your problem is that normal doesn't take quotes

And that g starts on column one, not the start of the match

yesterday, by Wheat Wizard
@MistahFiggins Try this run with -C for Brain-Flak classic

I just ordered it.

@MistahFiggins hm ok
@Mendeleev prolly a cheapo version

No, probably a typo.
Kind of mean to be honest.

10:08 PM
@Riker I don't think those exist, they wouldn't be possible to make

also, would you mind not oneboxing the 2 images? it takes up a shitton of space on smaller screens

@Riker does it? sorry

ya

I really just want to run this code:
"qd:A(),(;{A\%!},pe#&f!0pv'%QTS|Q@░┼_¥f::+!vUGw)(Is(({})<>))%?;ONou{((({}[]<n=int(inpu;({})(@!-;<>))><>)<{i=1div=wvhile(({})){({}[])<>}{}}{}<>({<[{}[])>[]}[]{}{})><>)<>{ifn%i==g00div.append(<{}<>{}<>>i)i=i+1}{}printdiv)}#R{}T:.eX╜R;j`;╜0%Y*`M∩\"ILD¹s%_Ï,

@MistahFiggins I don't use it locally very often, but I think it's ruby brain-flak.rb source.flak -f inputs.txt

10:08 PM
also, pls don't use your own image hosting @Mendeleev

@Riker Why not?

it doesn't work on my machine >_>
i had to upload to imgur to get it to work

@Riker In what sense?

403
not 404 sorry that was typo

@Mendeleev Seem kinda expensive for a switch

10:09 PM
403???

ya

@Downgoat It's a router

Though if it's a switch why does it say router?

@Mendeleev that's a hell of a lot of tabs

@Mendeleev :| that would answer it

10:09 PM
@Downgoat Because it's a router

Router normally does more than a switch.

@Downgoat ~~ Downgoat 2017

@betseg is it? I once had >200 tabs open.

damnit it's 2017

@Mendeleev does your ISP not give you router
@Riker haha

10:10 PM
he wants it for a server I assume

@Downgoat why would I ever use that bloated piece of trash?

@Downgoat ...why would you use a router from an ISP

First of all I have three access points set up in a lightweight configuration being controlled via a virtual WLC.

@Downgoat did you figure it out?

@quartata because it's free?

10:11 PM
@Mendeleev plugging directly into that is faster than plugging from that into router and into computer

I'm using an ISP router because Telstra wouldn't believe the problem was in their lines otherwise.

@Riker Yeah, that's not even a good enough of a reason. So you know how much they suck.

lol

or does your ISP let you use your own router?

most do >_>

10:11 PM
@Downgoat Our ISP charges for routers and we actually use a cable modem that we bought even
It's Comcast, so you would expect something else

>_> idk, comcast where I live requires you to use their router

Mine wants monthly cash for leasing me their router. I have my own.

@Downgoat router != gateway

Our setup is basically [cable modem] -> [router] -> [switch] -> [computers, appliances, access points, server, etc.]
Our house is completely wired with gigabit ethernet

10:13 PM
@quartata no like comcast doesn't let you turn of router functionality of the box

?

Ours is a bit more complex.

@Downgoat eh
I'd still have my own router

I have own asus router but it is only for wifi extender

Router
	Switch
		Various
		Computers
	Personal Server
	Wireless Conncetions

10:19 PM
i was on wikipedia last week, looking at something about TLDs. saw something interested and told my friends about it. now, im looking at my wikipedia contributions history, i noticed that i added that thing to wikipedia :D

Has anyone else noticed that Stack Overflow have moved all of the metas' domains to support HTTPS?

@betseg link?
@wizzwizz4 yes -_-

That was planned for some time.

@wizzwizz4 It's been featured

10:20 PM
HTTPS Everywhere completely broke meta because of the change.

meta.codegolf.SE still redirects, and may do so indefinitely.

@JanDvorak Hmm... I remember that... :-S

Ah, no, HTTPSE didn't break meta. Meta broke HTTPSE.

@Downgoat Yes.

10:21 PM
@Downgoat too tall for chat

@betseg pretty cool
@Mendeleev not completly
community edited a bunch of things

@MistahFiggins you have to type git checkout classic_mode

@Downgoat What's that that map of?

@Downgoat pretty nice

@Downgoat Way way too web 2.0
And I can't grok the tagline

10:21 PM
Then run with -C

@JanDvorak the background :P

I like the Web2.0 Look :(

@quartata is taht a bad thing?

@quartata :( what is wrong with that?

@Mendeleev yes

10:22 PM
@ATaco same

@Downgoat yes

@quartata why?

I'm assuming the background is larger and cropped to the screen, otherwise looks good.

smells like a fatal combo of CSS and JS that will consume all the memory on my tablet

It's not one of those weird buggy websites that don't work on mobile I promise

10:23 PM
Reddit didn't work on my tablet until recently so lemme put it like that
The bar is very low

@quartata it's actually much much more light weight than I thought it would be

@Downgoat Excessively professional...

to be fair it is going to app store so should be professional
I should actually make that the app startup screen

Make sure it looks fine on IPhone and IPod.

10:29 PM
@Mendeleev I was pinged?
@Downgoat +1

@ГригорийПерельман were you able to install GitGoat? I don't see you as a tester yet

Oh, haven't had time.

oh ok

And then when I did have time, my phone borked.

>_<

10:30 PM
So I have a flipphone now.

oh my...

I'm quite impressed with GitGoat so far, I love how clearly laid out everything is.

Ye, seems awesome.
BTW @Downgoat do you have a thing like on the website where it shows a breakdown of languages used?

My approximate network topology

@Downgoat my tagline :3

10:32 PM
@ГригорийПерельман not sure what website/languages you are talking aobut

@DownGoat It seems to crash when I launch a Git that is not directly owned by me.

@Mendeleev back button on the left phone looks...weird

@ATaco like a repo?

10:33 PM
Yeah.

Let me see if I can get a screenshot, somehow.

is that what you're looking for?
or do you mean in the app

I mean in the app.

10:34 PM
@betseg It's an artifact of the export function, it loks fine on my screen

ah, I'm working on that, it doesn't look like GitHub has an API so I'll have to do some hacking

I see.
CodeHub just shows the number 1 lang iirc, not the whole break down.
It also shows the entire size of the project.

@Downgoat Why did you remove me from the repo?
Also, Ruby?

My network topology is |- cable modem - wifi router ))) ((( everything else

10:36 PM
@Mendeleev has private stuff now

@Downgoat oic
I would suggest to use a private Git submodule, but whatever

@ГригорийПерельман as in byte count? I think I could squeeze that in somewhere

that screenshot settles all my apprehensions that UI is not good enough :P

@ГригорийПерельман What app is this?

Oh. I think I sued to have it installed
used**

> The most advanced client for GitHub on iOS
opls baseless claim

...I think I just downloaded a taball of the Solaris 11 kernel.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Here you dropped this: \

sorry

10:43 PM
Clicking that bottom repo crashes GitGoat

@ATaco hm :/ I should be receiving a crash trace but xcode not showing any crashes
maybe in a hour it'll show

Maybe, or it's an incredibly hard crash.

Does anyone here know how to load a .svg into JOGL, or convert a .svg to a .png?

@Downgoat more space between text and bottom IMO

@quartata glad you think so

10:53 PM
omfg @ГригорийПерельман this game is insane
me right now
i.reddituploads.com/… (no onebox is on purpose)

TIL how f*cking expensive it is to make app store screenshots...

user165474
@Jonathan no problem, unfortunately he still doesn't seem to get it though...

@WheatWizard not really sure what you mean by that. It gives me an error in the git console. anyway you can just verify if this code works?

@Downgoat How expensive is it

11:00 PM
@ASCII-only 99$

@Downgoat D:

@Downgoat Wat?

@MistahFiggins I'm getting a brace mismatch

@ГригорийПерельман AFAIK Inkscape can render SVG
@Downgoat Just to make a screenshot?

11:03 PM
@Mendeleev and also put text on top of it, but yes

@Downgoat ...
That's for each screenshot?

@Mendeleev not for each, to make all screenshots

Oh

@Mendeleev I know, but I need to render svg files in a program I'm writing.

@Downgoat feedback pls, probably at least 1 typo

11:05 PM
Otherwise you would need to post it without screenshots?

@WheatWizard Huh. Do you get a mismatch with the plain code you suggested?
It could be the special characters

@ГригорийПерельман What language?

@MistahFiggins No

@Downgoat The 'Features' link seems to do nothing.

11:06 PM
oh, oops

I copied the code, deleted all of the non-braces, and I didn't see a mismatch. It matched you proposed code exactly
Not really sure why there is a mismatch

Probably an interpreter bug. I'll try to see if I can figure out why.

Try taking out the non-ASCII

@Downgoat The Twitter and Github links at the bottom also do nothing.

@ГригорийПерельман shit whoops

11:09 PM
Awesome design though.
Look great.
You might want to add some checks to make sure the beta-request form is valid.
I was just messing around and it succesfully let me submit an empty form.

ok so anyone want to learn charcoal
or try to break it

Outgolfed in my own challenge and my own language... Well done! — Dennis ♦ 3 mins ago
So much for that meme.

@ASCII-only already done

@Dennis clearly that other user is also you. You are just trying to hide that no-one else can beat you.

11:13 PM
@ГригорийПерельман oh no I have to write JavaScript to do that

@Downgoat But isn't it not broken anymore now

@ASCII-only even ^C bork?

@Dennis how many times has the meme died? never, memes don't die

@Downgoat Yeah

@Dennis Can't you do Ȧ for a 1-byte solution? Or am I missing something.

11:15 PM

@MistahFiggins "qd:A(),(;{A\%!},pe#&f!0pv'%QTS|Q@░┼_¥f::+!vUGw)(Is(({})<>))%?;ONou{((({}[]<n=i‌nt(inpu;({})(@!-;<>))><>)<{i=1div=wvhile(({})){({}[])<>}{}}{}<>({<({}[])>[]}[]{}{‌})><>)<>{ifn%i==g00div.append(<{}<>{}<>>i)i=i+1}{}printdiv)}#R{}T:.eX╜R;j;╜0%Y*‌M∩\"ILD¹s%_Ï,
You did have a mismatch

@WheatWizard Where

[{}[])
I sent the fixed code so you wont see it there but if you do a find on the original one you should see it

11:18 PM
@ASCII-only okay can you fix and then ping me

Ah, yes, thanks much

@ASCII-only fixed

A: Sandbox for Proposed Challenges

HyperNeutrinoImage Quine code-golf The challenge is to quite simply, output an image of the source code of your program exactly as it is. Scoring is by shortest source code wins. The image must visibly contain the source code, and no other characters or decorations. Standard quine rules apply, so: - No 0-...

Charcoal>
Cleared canvas
Charcoal> %
@ASCII-only clears canvas but still exists :(

@Downgoat ?
Yeah ^C exits if canvas is clear

11:21 PM
@WheatWizard It should be ({}[]) right? not [{}[]]?

Yes I've tested and it works

Because people like me don't know about ^Z^M on Windows

@WheatWizard Thanks!

@MistahFiggins No problem

@ГригорийПерельман 5th bullet point:
> If your language has a built-in that is itself a valid submission to this challenge, you may not use it in your answer. All other built-ins are allowed.

11:24 PM
@DJMcMayhem @AdmBorkBork i.imgur.com/pbUS31y.gifv

@ASCII-only Also please provide way to enter unicodes without copy and paste from docs

@Downgoat well i have x keyboard
and verbose mode although iirc repl doesn't work with verbose mode yet
just put verbose in a file and do ./charcoal.py filename -v

you should do it something like how APL does it, where `A (e.g.) is the full width A

@ConorO'Brien ?

@ASCII-only pls "?" Carries very little meaning

11:27 PM
as in:
`A
is equivalent to
A

IDK
In Charcoal all ascii characters are assumed to be part of a string
Plus what about the non-alphabetic characters
@Conor

@ASCII-only What does that do?

@Mendeleev Exits commandline, like ^D in Linux I think

@ГригорийПерельман If your language has a built-in that is itself a valid submission to this challenge, you may not use it in your answer. All other built-ins are allowed.

I think this guy is a scammer

11:37 PM
@ASCII-only be creative

Okay then, but we still need a non-ASCII, easy-to-type escape character

@Mendeleev because of cheap prices?

@Riker That's glorious XD

ya
:P

It's interesting that TacO seems to be able to do anything that doesn't require it to run forever, even without turing completeness.

11:43 PM
Are there any loops in TacO?

Not surprising. C isn't Turing complete, yet you can literally do anything your computer can with it.

There are only For Loops in TacO.
@Dennis I mean, even at a theoretical standpoint, there is no-way that a current implementation of TacO can be made turing complete without defeating the nature of the language.

@Riker Roadhog is best wingman confirmed haha

@ATaco Implementations are never Turing complete. It's a theoretical concept.

My mistake, the Concept is not turing complete, it can never run infinitely.
By design, it's either not TC, or I've solved the Halting problem.

11:47 PM
I wonder which one...

I'm guessing I didn't accidentally solve the Halting Problem, but I'm not against the idea.

@ASCII-only why?

@ConorO'Brien Because if the escape character is ASCII it will be treated as part of a string

@ASCII-only just require the doubling up of that escape character

:( it sounds like such a pain though
i mean i already have an X keyboard for most of the characters iirc

11:50 PM
the rest of us don't, and it's a simple thing
literally, x.replace(/~(.)/g, e => extended_cmd_dict[e])

Prime factorization is possible in TacO, but it's a pain. Because it's literally just, "Which combination of primes multiplied together results in n"

@DJMcMayhem yah man

Can this regex be improved?: /^([1-9]\d{1,8}|(?![5-9]|4[3-9]|429([5-9]|49([7-9]|6([89]|7([3-9]|29[6-9])))))[1‌-4]\d{9})$/

Yes. By not using it.
