Well, really, it's mostly because 1..5 is supposed to be [1,2,3,4,5] (with or without the ending 5), so wrapping it in delimiters is a bit weird.

@El'endiaStarman I think its clever, and if it was standard, it would be convenient. However, that said, it would add another item to remember in the order of operations

1,2,3,4,5 in a "regular" language, but with your syntax I wouldn't expect it to work at all

In Ruby and Rust, .. has close-to-lowest precedence

@El'endiaStarman how about you make one of the notations work for normal int ranges, and the other for the real intervals I suggested a few days ago?

Well, semi-math notation. [1,5] would be math notation, but that means something entirely different for most langs

IMO [1..5) makes [1,2,3,4] and [1..5] makes [1,2,3,4,5]. To me that makes sense.
