@WedaPashi I saw that you're active on some climing-related topics on TGO.SE. There's kind of a climbing hype over here right now. Is climbing the same in India?
@Anderas: It is, from over a decade. Before that, there weren't much enthusiasm about Rock Climbing as a popular sport. Moreover, the IFSC Climbing World cup being partially held in India, everybody wants to take up climbing :D
@WedaPashi Wow, really? Pardon my european perspective, but over here, India isn't particularly known for its enthusiastic climbing scene ;-) Nice to hear that.
(in the last years, new climbing gyms have been popping up all over the place. And I wasn't sure whether that was a German thing, or happened in other countries, too...)
@Anderas: There is nothing wrong in having that perspective towards India at all, we've been more known for Himalayan mountaineering than Rock Climbing as a sport activity :)
About Climbing Gyms, yep, we miss them. We don't have climbing gyms at all barring the major cities like Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai.
For me, it's the other way around. (But the biggest challenge in mountaineering over here would be to find suitable mountains that aren't several hours away, even when going by car...)
