Q: Designing Bike Trailers – Especially the hitch and load

dluI'm taken with the idea of the Wide Path Camper, but not with the weight or the cost of getting one delivered to the US, so I was thinking it would be a fun project to try my hand at designing and building one. I'm looking for information and/or experience on trailer design – especially the conn...

Why do these type of trailers even exist? They don't look particularly comfortable compared to a good tent and the weight kinda defeats the whole purpose of cycling. For groups you can create amazing shelters with 2-3 tarps that are way more spacious and provide just as much shelter.

yah - a good tent is a better idea
and if you get a ~4 man tent you can put your bike "inside" too

Someone's an optimist in the copywriting crew.... "that’s a paltry 11% increase in weight "

its a fat bike thats also a cargo bike
im not sure how heavy a light one would be

and it is significantly long too
I wonder how cornering would work.... you'd almost forget until taking a corner and have the rear wheel cut the shortest line.
